With the new semester in full swing, it's time to start getting back into long days filled with classes, practice, rehearsal, chapter meetings, coffee dates, and of course, HOMEWORK. With everything starting up again, it's easy to forget to make time for YOU. Time to rest, relax, recuperate, and rejoice! So here are blank ways that you can make time for you this semester.
1. Driving
Honestly, just driving aimlessly around Tacoma for half an hour or so with the radio on helps me relax and recuperate more than anything else. It's time to get your mind off of everything you need to do, relax with some music, and just take some time to be with yourself.
2. Taking a Nap
Let's be real, we could all use about 10 naps. But seriously, a 30-minute nap in the middle of the day can really save you!
3. Coloring Books
This is something that has gotten really popular again in the past few years, but coloring books can do wonders.
4. Taking Long Showers
I know I always feel so much better after taking a long, hot shower. It wakes you up and helps rejuvenate your body!
5. Cleaning Your Room
For me, cleaning my room is so relaxing. Nothing major, putting away laundry, maybe making your bed. It helps you feel more productive, while not exuding too much energy.
6. Binge Watching a Show
Right now, I'm binge watching "That 70's Show" and it is seriously keeping me going every day.
7. Have a spoonful of Nutella or Cookie Butter!
Another small treat that could seriously work wonders when the exhaustion hits at 4 PM!
8. Workout
Going on long runs helps me more personally, but some people love working out to help me recuperate after a long day or week.
9. Talk to someone you love.
I know for me when I have a long day, I just want to call my mom and tell her all about it. Usually, because I am really excited about whatever it is I am doing and I want to tell her all about it, but also because it's nice to have my mom validate my exhsautiond and need for rest when I keep thinking I can do more.
10. Yoga
Yoga is a great way to relax and help give your body some time for rejuvenation!
11. Doing your makeup
When I need to relax, I love playing with makeup. Trying out new products, new looks, new colors, anything! You might even get a new look you like after playing around with it.
12. Read a book!
A great way to destress is to go into another world...
Whatever way you destress, be sure to find a way that works for you so that you can let your body recuperate after the long days, weeks, and months!
