Friday Night Lights... the show that teaches you that there's more to life than football. Coach Eric Taylor never left you disappointed with the advice he gave to the boys; and the boys never left you disappointed by making the coach proud. This show is more than just a show about football... it's about strength, diversity, forgiveness, love, and determination. Watching the show, you began to wish that Eric Taylor was both your coach and father. He always knew what to say, and when to say it. He made an imprint in your mind about who you are. And for that, we are forever thankful.

1. "I said you need to strive to be better than everyone else. I didn't say you needed to be better than everyone else. But you gotta try. That's what character is: It's in the try."

2. "You listen to people that love you and you listen to people that you trust. Most of all, you listen to yourself.

3. "I'm a firm believer in you can do anything you put your mind to, and yourself, you, I believe you can do anything you put your mind to."

4. "Every man at some point in his life is gonna lose a battle. He's gonna fight and he's gonna lose. But what makes him a man, is that in the midst of that battle he does not lose himself."

5. "Right here, right now, God has placed you to do what you do best. Go all the way."

6. "You can't beat yourself up because you're taking chances on things. But don't start giving up on what you set forth to do in the beginning. 'Cause that's gonna get you nowhere. I can promise you that."

7. "My dad used to say, 'It always looks bad before it gets better."

8. "You get one chance in life, fellas. You can either take advantage of it, or you can piss it away. You do that, and you're gonna regret for it the rest of your lives."

9. "Success is not a goal, it's a byproduct."

10. “Because tomorrow, if you give 100% of yourself tonight people are going to look at you differently. People are going to think of you differently. And I promise you, you’re going look and think differently about yourself.”

11. “We will all at some time in our lives, fall. Life is so very fragile, we are all vulnerable, and we will all at some point in our lives, fall, we will all fall.
We must carry this in our hearts, that what we have is special, that it can be taken from us, and that when it is taken from us, we will be tested. We will be tested to our very souls. We will all be tested. It is these times, it is this pain, that allows us to look inside ourselves.”

And finally... the most famous six words of them all.

12. "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
