On September 21, 2016, a national celebrity tragedy occurred (unless you're Jennifer Aniston). Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, more commonly referred to as "Brangelina," filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage. Now the whole country is in shock at the divorce, even though there are events currently coinciding with the divorce that are clearly more important. In honor of their 12 years of marriage, here are 12 things that are more important than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie separating.

1. The Charlotte Protests.

Obviously this now has more coverage than the Brangelina divorce, but at first it was slightly overshadowed.

2. President Obama just declared the first underwater national park in United States history.

According to National Geographic, "The first national monument in the Atlantic will protect deep canyons along the continental shelf and a chain of extinct undersea volcanoes." But compared to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's divorce, this had little-to-no coverage whatsoever.

3. Donald Trump enforcing the "stop and frisk" policy.

This week Donald Trump enforced the very controversial "stop and frisk" policy, in which "a police officer who is suspicious of an individual detains the person and runs his hands lightly over the suspect's outer garments to determine if the person is carrying a concealed weapon." But obviously the public thinks the more important question is this; did Brad Pitt cheat on Angelina Jolie with Marion Collitard?

4. A twelve year old genius is currently attending Cornell University.

Jeremy Shuler is now one of the youngest freshmen ever to be admitted in an Ivy League school, and, if his brain keeps developing, could be able to solve Einstein-related math equations by the time he is college-aged. In other words, this kid is the real-life Jimmy Neutron and more people care about Brangelina than this super genius who might change the world in the near future.

5. The presidential polls are now showing a near tie between both candidates.

The presidential polls are placing the candidates at a near tie before the upcoming presidential debates, which should concern everyone. Instead, people are more concerned about why one of the biggest power couples in Hollywood suddenly separated.

6. The increase of athletes protesting the national anthem.

This has been news for a while now, but the protests are now increasing not just in the NFL, but in high schools, colleges, etc.

7. Mark Zuckerberg is now investing three billion dollars in order to fight diseases.

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan have just pledged three billion dollars in order to fight diseases. Why isn't this getting more media coverage than the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce?

8. A 14-year-old girl just invented a solar- powered water purification system.

14-year-old Deepika Kurup just won $25,000 for inventing a solar-powered water purification system, and she next plans to apply for a patent and start up a nonprofit organization in order to deploy her system. There are hardly any news outlets reporting on this amazing girl; instead they are speculating why Jolie and Pitt split up.

9.Climate change is now threatening the world's coffee supply.

There are new studies that are showing that, due to climate change, everyone's favorite caffeinated drink is now in jeopardy. But nope, instead we are too focused on our favorite Brangelina moments.

10. Twenty more nations have signed on to the Paris Climate Agreement.

According to The New York Times, " More than 20 world leaders tendered legal documents on Wednesday, formally binding their governments to the Paris climate accord at a General Assembly ceremony here and all but ensuring that the agreement will go into force by the end of the year. " But there's still one important question: did Marion Collitard have an affair with Brad Pitt?

11. Scientists have just found a 2,000 year old Hebrew Bible Scroll through new scanning technology.

According to "The Associated Press," scientists have used innovative scanning technology in order to show a passage from a 2,000 year old Bible Scroll. The passages from the Book of Leviticus offer the first physical evidence that the version of the Hebrew Bible used today goes back 2,000 years. However, more important issues are still being reported, like how George Clooney found out about Brangelina while on CNN.

12. The United States is currently trying to find a compromise with Russia in order to reduce violence in Syria.

This would be huge if the compromise is reached, making the relationship between the United States and Russia much better. But of course, people are instead wondering how Jennifer Aniston is reacting to Brangelina's downfall.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
