Well, my fellow college students, we have made it more than half way through this semester. Congratulations! Whether you have had a rough or easy semseter, I know that by this time most of you are ready to take a break from the college life and go back home. In honor of Thanksgiving break being right around the corner, here is a list of 12 things that college students will be able to do again over this much needed holiday break.
1. Seeing Your Family
Whether you haven't seen them since school started, or you saw them last weekend, being at home with your family is always a nice feeling.
2. Seeing Your Pets
3. Getting To Sleep In Your Own Bed
4. Getting To Shower In Your Own Bathroom
No more community showers. THANK. GOD. Also, you get to sing in the shower and take as much time as you want without worrying about being judged by anyone.
5. Seeing Your Hometown Friends
6. Eating Home Cooked Meals
1. You can finally stop eating Ramen. 2. Your parents will probably think you haven't eaten in days. 3. Eat as much of the good food as you can, because unfortunately you'll have to leave it again soon.
7. Driving
You can finally drive yourself again. At first, you'll probably forget how to drive because you haven't driven in a while, but you'll get the hang of it again. Don't forget to jam to your favorite tunes and as always, drive safely.
8. Not Having Homework
No more studying! No more tests! No more stress! ...Well until we have to return back to college or unless your professors did assign you homework (you can add that to the list of things you aren't thankful for).
9. Sleeping In
That amazing moment when you don't have to set an alarm for the next morning.
10. Getting To Relax
Yeah, that's right. You finally get some time to relax. Read a book. Watch Netflix. Take a nap. This is your time.
11. Black Friday Shopping
Go get those sales. Treat yo' self. You've earned it.
12. Reflect On The Past Year
Now, what kind of Thanksgiving thread would this be if I didn't include an actual Thanksgiving activity in it... No, but in all seriousness, make sure you take some time to reflect about the past year and what you are truly thankful for. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
