12 Reasons You Should Texas A&M Football
Sarah Connor
  1. 12th Man - There is no better feeling than the feeling you get inside of you standing up; hoping and praying that the Aggie’s will get the 1st down. The best part is knowing that even if you aren’t physically on the field, you are still a part of it all and there when the team needs you.
  2. Kyle Field - If you've never been inside of Kyle Field, you should do everything possible to see it. With well over 100,000 seats, Kyle Field is massive and stunning.
  3. Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band - Our football team may lose, but our band never does. Many fans get up to leave and get food at half-time, but not in College Station. The best part of the game for many is the 10 minutes the Aggie Band is on the field.
  4. Reveille - Miss Rev is easily the cutest mascot in college football. She is the highest ranking member of the Corps of Cadets, which automatically makes her awesome. Not to mention how pretty she is and how great she looks sitting at Kyle Field on game days.
  5. Yells - One of the best parts of any A&M football game, is the yells. Lead by the yell leaders, students “pass it back” and “hump it” before proudly yelling the words to many beloved yells. Many favorites include “Beat the Hell”, “Military”, “Locomotive”, and “Farmers Fight.”
  6. War Hymn - The War Hymn is sung at every game after the third quarter and is awesome. If the song itself isn’t good enough for you, watch 100,000 people put there arms around each other and “saw them off” because that is probably the coolest thing you’ll ever see.
  7. Hype Video - At the start of every game, before the team runs out, the hype video is played, followed by the beginning of Kayne’s “Power” to get everyone ready for the game. If you aren’t there for this part of the game, you are missing out!
  8. Tradition - All of the tradition of Texas A&M is shown during the football games. Waving your 12th Man towel, the Corps of Cadets, the cannon after each touchdown, the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, and the Yell Leaders all are filled with A&M tradition.
  9. Game-day Clothes - Everyone should get a little bit excited to wear their favorite gameday clothes on Saturdays. Shopping for maroon is easily one of the greatest things on earth because it means you will be wearing maroon, which any good ag loves to do.
  10. Trevor Knight - Let’s be honest, if you’ve been here for Trevor Knight’s one season at Texas A&M and don’t love him, something is wrong. This season Trevor Knight has been loved and obsessed over. He quickly became well known and well loved on campus. If you were lucky enough to sit near him at Breakaway of get a picture with him, you were automatically cool.
  11. Ticket Pulling - Many camp out all night, or wake up at 3:30 am just to go and pull their tickets for that weekends’s football game. This is a time to bond with friends, or make new friends, while sitting in line for hours waiting for your turn to pull your tickets.
  12. Spirit of Aggieland - “From the outside looking in, you can’t understand it. And from the inside looking out, you can’t explain it.” This is so true. I will never be able to put into words the way you feel proudly singing the “Spirit of Aggieland,” the War Hymn, and doing countless yells. Many will never understand, but if you’re blessed enough to attend Texas A&M, you will quickly learn what it mens to be an Aggie.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
