We all have those friends who are absolutely and undoubtedly obsessed with dogs. How can you tell? From their reactions to seeing one in real life to their social media accounts, it is not hard to determine which people wish that they could own every dog in the entire world. After all, who wouldn’t love these loyal companions?
1. You’re constantly asking if you can pet people’s dogs.
When people walk by, it’s hard to ignore their fluffy companion. You constantly find yourself asking the owner’s permission to pet their dog and show how much you appreciate their presence.
2. Pictures and videos of dogs dominate your social media.
You’re constantly watching videos that pop up on your news feed, and you can’t resist using Snapchat to document every encounter that you have with a dog.
3. Your reaction to seeing a dog is HUGE.
People know you’re a dog lover because of the way you react when seeing one. Your reactions range from crying tears of joy to having full-blown conversations with the dog.
4. You drop everything that you are doing if a dog is on campus.
You don’t always see dogs on campus, but when you do you make it your top priority to pet them. It’s not often, especially on a small campus, that you spot a person walking their fluffy companion around.
5. Not a day goes by when you don’t think about them.
Some people think about their significant other, friends, family, etc. when away at school. Meanwhile, dogs are always on your mind, whether it’s your own dog or just dogs in general.
6. You have more knowledge about dog breeds than about your own major.
It’s easy to tell the difference between a golden retriever and a yellow Labrador retriever.
7. Your ideal future family consists of more dogs than children.
Why have children when you can have loyal and adorable dogs? When you have a dog, he or she is basically already part of the family. Treat them accordingly.
8. It’s easier to remember the names of dogs than people.
You can easily remember the names of all of your friends’ dogs as well as all of the ones that live around your neighborhood.
9. Adopting a dog would be impossible because you would want all of them.
Picking just one dog at a shelter or a pet store would be both the best and worst day of your life. Obviously it would be the best day because you are getting a dog, but it’s hard to fight back the tears when you have to leave all the other dogs behind.
10. Walking dogs is NOT a chore.
You do not need to get paid to walk a dog. Getting paid is just a bonus.
11. A dog can genuinely put you in a good mood better than any human could.
No matter what happened during the day, you feel significantly better in the presence of a dog.
12. You've already planned out which type of dog you would like to own when you grow up.
Even if you don't know what career you want or where you plan to live, you have specific dog breeds chosen that you plan on adopting.
