For those that don't know, 2016 Presidential Election is looking critical for young voters. With Donald Trump leading the polls for the Republican Party, these worries are justified. But no need to fret, Bernie Sanders is here! Bernie Sanders, with the pun-filled campaign slogan titled "Feel the Bern!", has been a fan favorite for the Democratic party, gaining about 68 percent of votes from people under the age of 24. There's a reason why Sanders has become so popular among the young people!

1. He has the Experience:

Bernie Sanders proved to be a fan favorite even before the presidential election, with a 71 percent re-election vote for a second term in the Senate! Even before that, Sanders served a total of 16 years with the House of Representatives for Vermont.

2. Free Education for All:

Sanders believes that secondary education should be free, no matter the financial status of a student's family. How does he attempt to make this happen? By having two-thirds of the cost paid by the Government, the remainder being paid by the state.

3. Global Warming is Our Responsibility:

Bernie recognizes that the survival of our planet is held in the balance of our daily activities and can be significantly slowed through the reduction of Carbon emissions. He also took the time to bash Trump while he was at it, stating that the Republican believes Global Warming is a prank from China.

4. Wants to Protect the Immigrants:

Being a proud son of an immigrant, Bernie recognizes the foundation of our country is based on immigration. He plans to protect United States immigrants by modernizing immigration laws, protecting immigrants from inhumane deportation.

5. Make Medication Affordable:

After the Turing Pharmaceuticals scandal that happened in September of last year, it came to Bernie's attention that Prescription drugs should not be out of reach for everyday people. He believes there is no reason for medication (that could save a person's life) could be so expensive to the people that need it.

6. Bernie Recognizes there is more to a Campaign than Popularity:

Recognized as being an authentic candidate, Bernie still is able to be labeled as one of the most promising candidates for the 2016 election while also being one of the least funded democrats in the political race besides Martin O'Malley. Let's not forget, Sanders was also able to gain a huge young adult following without releasing an advertisement until November of 2015.

7. He Believes Veterans Deserve the Best Care:

Veteran's deserves the appreciation for fight for our country, and Bernie could not agree more. But he does not want to just show his appreciation through words. Part of Bernie Sanders' campaign is the restoration of Veteran benefits, providing the best health care, and making sure education is available for our soldiers.

8. The LGBTQ Community has Bernie's Support:

Sander's has been very vocal about his stances on many controversial issues within our country, one in particular being the equal rights of the LGBTQ Community. This isn't just recent support either, Bernie is known to have supported the LGBTQ Community in as early at the 1970's!

9. Women's Rights is Important to Him as well:

Bernie is pro-choice, believing in the right for all woman to have readily available, free, and safe options. Doing so, Bernie plans to increase funding in Planned Pare

nthood. The presidential candidate also seeks to enforce the right for a Woman's paid medical and family leave for up to 12 weeks and make wages for women equal to men (Women are statistically paid 78 cents to a man's $1).

10. The People Deserve Racial Justice:

With the Black Lives Matter movement in full swing, voters will love the fact that Sander's recognizes the inequality as much as the public does. Bernie sets out to end the violence noting the need for the halt on police brutality, political segregation, and economic violence. Bernie makes it clear that there is inequality when it comes to the race in our country and it is long past due for these prejudices to stop.

11. Bernie knows how to put People on the Spot (Especially Republicans):

Bernie is not known to shy away from calling people out when they work around issues addressing important issues. That's part of the reason young people love him so much! He calls people out, and on twitter? What more could you want?

12. He Cares for the Youth:

This is definitely a big plus on the young voters' list. Sanders has noted that unemployment rates are higher among youth people and this needs to stop. Sander's knowing that the unemployment rate directly correlates with the lack of education in young people, which is why this is such a pressing issue.

With the all around hopelessness that is conjoined with the Presidential Election this year, it is nice to know there is someone in our corner!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
