Summer is the time to relax, get some sun, and create ever-lasting memories. While we all may have a different place to create these memories, most of us can agree on one thing: it all comes down to an exit off of parkway south and, if it were up to me, it would be exit 63 every single time. So grab some shades, pack the car and listen why LBI is the best place to visit during the Summer.
1. The Chicken or The Egg
Because honestly, who does live for those 2 a.m Chegg wings or a banging Sunday breakfast. Yes, there may be a wait 99.9 percent of the time, but c’mon, you know its worth it.
2. Fantasy Island
From rides to arcade games, no summer is complete without one (or two or three or four) trips to Fantasy Island. While money may be spent quickly, the memories made will last forever.
3. The Smell
LBI has that salty “sea breeze” smell that we all long for throughout the winter (without the stench of regret and bad decisions—sorry Seaside).
4. Ice Cream
While I personally tend to stay away from Ben & Jerry’s, your possibilities (and the lines) are endless! Quick shout out to Barry’s and Skipper Dipper—you two have my heart from June to September.
5. Hoagiefest
Yes, I aware that this is not exclusive to LBI, but we all know Wawa subs are amazing, especially at this time.
6. Pearl Street Market
While I can’t tell you if the guacamole, the crumb cake, or the lobster rolls are my favorite, I can say it would be a sad world without anyone of them.
7. The shopping
Between B&B, Island Gypsy, and Sur La Plage, your options are limitless. P.S. Don’t forget about the sidewalk sales!
8. Shore Good Donuts
While this place of deliciousness is relatively new, I hope to never go a summer without a few breakfasts here.
9. Bay Village
Who doesn’t love those late night strolls or hours of walking aimlessly? But hey, who can blame them? From the fudge and giant slices of pizza to the stores and boutiques, who wouldn’t want to spend time there?
10. The beach itself
Now, no, you won’t find pink sand as you would in Bermuda, but as far as the Jersey Shore goes, LBI’s beaches are pretty damn perfect (just don’t forget the sunscreen)!
11. Bagel Shack/Bageleddi's
While they won’t toast your bagel so don’t bother asking, their lines are typically out the door and that must mean something. Don’t forget to try the muffins—yum!
12. Family
This may not be applicable to everyone but without my family this list would not be possible—so, thanks Uncle Dan and Aunt Marjie for opening your home and the endless summer fun!
