As I'm sitting here in my dorm room on the verge of shivering, I gained inspiration for my article this week. Enjoy!
1. You always carry a sweatshirt around.
This is my full collection of sweatshirts that I have here at school with me to last until I go home at Thanksgiving. Yes, I did carry the teal one on the far right in my backpack today because air conditioner is one of my biggest enemies.
2. Sometimes you just have to take a shower to get warm.
When it's raining outside, all I want is a warm shower.
3. But then, that shower turns into one of your worst nightmares.
Your hair is washed and it's warm for the time being, but then you get out of the shower and brush it and it turns into a popsicle. Cool (literally).
4. You have at least three pairs of fuzzy socks.
Fuzzy socks give me life and speak to me at higher levels.
5. Fleece blankets are the bomb.com.
My boyfriend made this for me for Christmas and I have only slept a few nights without it. Not only does it bring comfort but it's EXTREMELY warm and I am cuddled under it as I'm writing this.
6. During the winter you avoid going outside too much, but then again you want to see all the snow and feel the brisk breeze, but then you realize that you have to wear about fifty million layers of clothing just to stay warm and you wonder if it's actually worth it.
I was most likely wearing leggings under those jeans and I know for a fact that there was a long sleeve AND a sweatshirt under that letterman jacket. The only thing that's missing is a beanie and a scarf, which I did not include in my daily wardrobe at that point in my life.
7. Ice packs terrify you.
You know that it will make your body feel better, but you always get cold from using one.
8. You can only spend so much time in a body of water.
Lakes are cool and so are mountains, but mountain lakes are freezing cold.
This lake reminded me of an ice pack. It was a nice friend for my knee at the end of the hike up the hill to this destination.
9. You're not addicted to coffee (or tea), the hot drinks just keep you warm.
That might be why I have too many mugs...but look at this little guy, isn't he so great?!?!
10. You are constantly seeking out friends who are willing to cuddle.
Even if they also get cold easily, their body heat still helps you stay warm, and vice versa. You also get to have sleepovers and heart-to-heart talks while you cuddle.
11. Wood fires bring you extreme joy.
Even though the fireplace is in the corner of the house that is furthest away from my room, I still enjoy laying on some giant pillows, reading a book, and drinking some team in front of the fire.
12. Your pets are the best things, honestly.
Not only do they cuddle you in times that you need comfort, but they're pretty darn warm when they do.
