If you are like me, then you get seasonal allergies whenever summer starts to turn into fall and winter starts turning into spring. I can tell you from my experience of having them for my entire life that they seriously suck and are not fun to have. If you too have seasonal allergies then I'm sure you will be able to relate to what I have to say about them.
1. Knowing that they will eventually come because of the season change
Once the seasons begin to change and stuff starts blooming, I know that it is only a matter of days, maybe a week or two, before my allergies will hit me.
2. Buying a ton of allergy medicine
I always make sure to pack plenty of allergy medication with me when I come back to school in August and December, because I know that even though my allergies have not started affecting me yet, they eventually will come and I want to be prepared.3. The initial moment when you first wake up and you cannot breathe through your nose
Waking up not being able to breathe through your nose is one of the worst feelings ever. The runny nose, watery eyes, sniffling, coughing, sore throat and headaches do not feel very good, either.
4. Just wanting to stay in bed all day
When you wake up feeling like crap, the last thing that you want to do is get out of bed and be productive. Netflix, breakfast in bed and going back to bed are all much more appealing than getting up.5. Trying to find your allergy medicine...and a bunch of tissues
You know that you brought some medicine back with you when you came back to school, but since it has been a few weeks since you moved in, you have no idea whereyou put it. Time to search through every place that it might be in order to try to find it.
6. Having to take a ton of medicine so that you are able to function like a normal human being
Claritin, nasal spray, Advil for headaches and any other medicine that will help you get through the day are a must during allergy season. Remembering when you need to take each medicine can be a struggle but they will help you feel better.7. Having to deal with your nose being red and looking like you are about to start crying for a few days
Please stop calling me Rudolph. No, I am not crying.
8. Feeling miserable for a few days until your medication kicks in
It takes a few days for the medications to start kicking in, so more than likely you will spend a few days feeling like crap. You seriously miss the feeling of being able to breathe through your nose and hate all the times that you took that for granted.9. Trying to avoid being outside, because you will probably come back feeling worse than you did when you left
The cause of your allergies is everything blooming outside, so why would you have any desire to go outside? If you do have to go outside in order to go to class or to the store try not to be out for too long because you will probably not feel very well when you get back.10. Hating being in public because you unintentionally draw attention to yourself by sniffling, blowing your nose and coughing
I'm sorry to anybody who has just heard me sneeze for the 20th time.
11. Feeling amazing when you wake up and can finally breathe through your nose
After not being able to breathe through your nose for a few days, the feeling when you finally can breathe through it is amazing.
