12 Moments That Occur When Living With Sisters
Peyton Harvill

Sisters. They can be annoying and they can be sweet. Older sisters are the best, given on how many years older than you, they can give you really good guy advice and help you out better than your mom when you experience 'your monthly present' or 'Aunt Flo' for the first time. Younger sisters. They are not always the best. They can be annoying, rude or a combination of both. They know what to do to get attention from your parents. Having both older and younger sisters can show you what the other side of death is like. It is not pretty. It's rough, hard and you always wished your parents stopped after you. And there is always those twelve moments that always occur while you're still living with your sisters before you move out.

1. There's always hair in the drain.

If you and your sisters all have long hair, this is inevitable. It stays there and grosses everyone out. And whenever someone does try and unclog the drain, they always end up gagging.

2. They're always stealing clothes from each other.

If you and your sister are the same size in every clothing store, good luck getting your favorite cardigan back.

3. You always fight about whose getting in the shower first.

You know who you are.

4. And whenever someone does get in the shower, they take too long and use up all the hot water.

And then you either shower in cold water or wait about an half hour until the hot water comes back.

5. Whenever Aunt Flo comes into town, there's almost no feminine products available.

So your dad either goes out and gets it, or your mom goes out and gets it.

6. When any of your sisters are in trouble, someone might take the heat for it. If they want to.

7. Getting ready with your sisters for a night out, with your family, can usually take forever.

Dad, give us a minute! The makeup doesn't put itself on!

8. When you're shopping with your sisters, you always question their taste in clothes.

But everyone has their own taste... That orange dress does look good on you!

9. There's usually some fighting that occurs every day.

10. But you always end up hugging.

Two to three times a day.

11. One of your sisters will always ask you, or your other sisters, to take a picture for Instagram.

And then asking what kind of caption they should post with it. This usually takes about half a day or more.

12. When they ask you to help with something, but you don't want to.

But you love your sister always, even if you don't always admit it out loud.

I know I love my three sisters. This is for you, Madison, Peyton and Carson. You guys mean so much to me, thanks for always being my sisters.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
