The end of the semester and finals week is fast approaching. Many students are starting to feel overwhelmed and like they are drowning in all of the work that they have to get done within the next couple of weeks. Here are the 12 stages in which all college students are going through at this time.

1. The First Wave

You hear from teachers that the semester is coming close to an end and you become concerned, then you look at your planner and you realize that your life, not just social, may be over forever.

2. Your Computer is Your Only Friend

You start bringing your computer with you everywhere so that when you have that ten-minute break between American Literature of the 20th century and Analytical Chemistry, you can work on whatever paper, project or busy work will be due.

3. The Beginning of the End

There comes a time in every college student's life when they realize that this could literally be the end for them and they look to their friends for all the positivity and support they can get through every rough finals week.

4. The Late Add-Ons

Professors decide that having eight papers, four research projects and a lab report due isn't enough so they decide to add on two presentations and seven chapter summaries.

5. Double-checking the Syllabus

This time of year is one in which every student double checks the syllabus 1,000 times in order to see every due date so they can plan their homework schedule, which then eternally stresses them out more.

6. The Second Wave

The second wave is the most common time for students to realize they slacked off a little too much when it comes to deadlines and just want to withdraw from every class they are taking and join the circus.

7. The "I CAN DO IT" Stage

Students go through this all the time and it's usually very close to finals week when it is done. This is when students plan out their whole days believing that they will tackle the big projects in small amounts and do their homework during breaks in class. IT'S ALL LIES.

8. Loss of All Hope

The stage of mental breakdowns. That's it.

9. Cramming

Oh, I have a paper due tomorrow at noon that has to be 12 pages? Alright, well let me start it now since its 10 pm.

10. Day After An All Nighter

These days are filled with six cups of coffee and four cold showers to wake you up from your want-to-be slumber.

11. Completed and Printed

WOW! Somehow you finished all of your assignments and handed them in ON TIME and to the RIGHT PROFESSOR!

12. Ending the Semester like a Champ

THAT'S IT, YOU'RE DONE! Way to go you! Now just wait for the grades to come out and then you have to do it all again next semester!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
