Life can sometimes be scary, especially if you are a second semester senior like me. When the world feels like it is caving in or when everything feels like it is too much, there is one place that I know I can turn to. For me, that place is scripture. So, here are 12 of my favorite Bible verses to remind me that God is near.
1. Proverbs 18:10
"The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."
2. Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
3. Isaiah 41: 10
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
4. John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
5. Psalm 46:1-3
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."
6. 2 Timothy 1:7
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."
7. 1 Peter 5:7
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."
8. Psalm 119:71
"It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees."
9. Psalm 120:1
"I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me."
10. 2 Corinthians 4:16
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."
11. Matthew 19:26
"But Jesus looked at them and said to them, 'With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'"
12. Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
