From Skate America to Worlds, the skating season can get long and stressful - and we're just cheering from home. Being a fan of figure skating really tests your patience and sanity, but lets be honest, we love every second of this dramatic sport. Here's 11 moments that every die-hard skating fan can relate to.

  1. You can tell by the first beat of music when someone is skating to Carmen, Phantom of the Opera, or Swan Lake.
  2. You can tell when someone is skating to Firebird simply by looking at their costume.
  3. You have woken up at odd hours of the night to watch an event from across the world.
  4. It’s not “Netflix and chill” it’s “IceNetwork and chill”
  5. You still have traumatizing flashbacks to 2014 US Nationals.
  6. You understand that a triple flip doesn’t mean someone is going to do 3 backflips in a row.
  7. By the end of the season, you have your favorite skater’s programs memorized.
  8. You treat nationals like the Super Bowl.
  9. You’ve been known to cancel plans in order to watch skating.
  10. You spend a lot of time on YouTube watching old performances.
  11. Those old performances still make you cry.
