1. Embrace the “itis.”
The “itis” is a phenomenon that occurs after consuming a large amount of food. One gets very full and as a result gets very sleepy. Don’t fight it; embrace it. You get one week to relax before rushing to bring your grade up before the semester ends. Sleep as much as you can.

They may be annoying at times, but Thanksgiving is a great time to be with them and reflect on the great things you have going for you in your life.

If you are an avid gym-goer, this week is a great time to just put your feet up and relax. Don’t worry about exercise and let your body take a well-deserved break. If you don’t want to miss a week of the gym, try just going every other day.

After Thanksgiving break is over, everyone is going to go through three weeks of pure stress trying to save grades and do last minute projects and such. Before you decide to get hooked on a new TV show then, just watch it while you have a week off.

If you are one to go out to the bars often, this week is probably a good time to be sober. Give your body and liver a break from the college life and stick with water this week.

Although it’s break, it might be a good time to really sit down and figure out your schedule for next semester. Not just classes, but also extra curricular activities, when you will be able to stop and eat, and getting the correct amount of sleep as much as possible.

This goes with out saying and you probably do this every break. Staying in touch with old friends and making time to see them is important, even if you only have enough time to tell them how thankful you are for them in your life.

The end of the semester coming up can be very stressful. Take this week-long break to do something you keep meaning to, but haven’t had the time.

No dining hall food! Eat as much of the homemade goodness that you can while you have the chance, and pack the rest with you. If you strategize, maybe you can bring enough back to last the final three weeks.

If you have a pet at home, spend quality time with him or her! Play with them, pet them, cuddle with them, or whatever you can do with the pet you own. They miss you as much as you miss them!

Thanksgiving itself is a very controversial holiday, but it is a good time for people to take a minute and express why they are thankful for whatever they are. Make sure you take a minute to do so over the Thanksgiving break.
