11 Times Our Parents Are Right

Well, they're right all of the time.

As children, we all take advantage of the people who love and care about us more than anyone else in the entire world. My parents are seriously incredible and even when I know I shouldn't have been, I was rude to them and disrespectful even when, especially during these 11 times, they were right.

1. When they disagree with our friend choices

How do they always know who is and isn't friend material?

2. When we break curfew

I really should pay more attention to the time...

3. When we fail a test

Bad grade? Study harder next time.

4. When we don't clean up after ourselves

It's not that hard to put my clothes in the laundry basket and throw my trash away...

5. When we argue with someone

I know you're tired of hearing me complain about someone you warned me about so I apologize for that.

6. When we have a significant other they don't approve of

I should have known that you're usually right...

7. When we don't call and check in

I'm sorry for worrying you, but I'm safe.

8. When we ignore them when they tell us to do something

Don't say we didn't warn you! Mother and father know best!

9. When we tell them what to do

That will be the last thing you ever do.

10. When we ignore their advice

Again, told you so.

11. When we worry about them

They love us just as much as we love them.

Just because we don't see eye-to-eye all of the time doesn't mean we don't still love each other. Parents are God's gift to us so we have someone to look to as the need arises. They allow us to be ourselves and they don't judge us for that. I'm so grateful to have such wonderful parents and I'm glad they forgive me even when I am rude and disrespectful.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
