If you're in a sorority or you know someone who is in a sorority, they likely were very excited for one week in particular: big sis week. That is the week in which the new members of the sorority find out who their bigs are, all while receiving cute gifts and going on fun adventures. It's a wonderful week, but it can also be tiring and filled with many different emotional thoughts.
1. I'm so excited to get presents! Yay, free stuff!
Big sis week is basically your birthday every day for the whole week.
2. So many surprises about every aspect of this week! I can't wait to be surprised by my big at reveal!
Think of this week as one giant surprise birthday, but instead of celebrating your birthday, you're celebrating your big.
3. My poor roommate. She must be getting barraged with texts from my big.
Big sis week involves a lot of coordination between roommates and bigs. Your roommate deserves to share some of your big sis gifts after what she went through this week.
4. Hold on. I have schoolwork to do this week. There is no time for anything else to happen.
It can seem like a tall order to fully immerse yourself in big sis week activities while also doing work for all of your classes. At times, it may be so stressful that you whack your head with a book.
5. Thanks big, but where the heck am I going to put all of these sorority shirts!?
Big sis week will most likely take over your room in multiple ways. Yet another reason to thank your roommate for putting up with all of this madness.
6. I thought my big was one person, but now I have no idea who it is.
Most people, at least at first, are confused about who their big might be. Fear not, all will be revealed at the end of the week.
7. Okay, the presents and surprises are great, but just tell me who my big is already!
The anticipation for reveal can get very intense.
8. I am seriously overwhelmed with everything about big sis week.
All of the surprises, secret Facebook accounts, and vague instructions about drivers and locations can become kind of overwhelming. It is definitely a lot to take in, but it is absolutely worth it in the end.
9. I wonder who other people's bigs are!?
Trying to guess the bigs of everyone else in your pledge class can be almost as fun as trying to guess your own big!
10. It's reveal day! I'm excited, but also kind of nervous because I still haven't figured out my big's identity yet.
If your big hasn't given you a huge clue, it can be kind of nerve-wracking to go into reveal not really knowing who they are. It's almost like a throwback to bid day in that sense.
11. I finally know my big! This is the start of a beautiful big-little relationship!
No matter how tiring the week was or how nervous you were going into reveal, it's always worth it when you find out your big and get to know her for real instead of via a fake Facebook account.
