This one goes out to the ladies who put old men's happiness above their own. To the ladies who know the pain of leaving work at 2:00 a.m. after bustin' their you-know-whats.
I'm not here to stereotype but, if you've ever worked at a country club, you know exactly what I'm talking about. None of us are immune to the occasional egotistical customer, but we get the job done and we have fun doing it. If you don't have a good sense of humor, you're in the wrong business, because if we took half the things that happen to us seriously... we'd all be in jail.
The good tippers keep us felony free.
1. The customer is "always right," even when they are drunk and completely wrong.
Whoop, there it is.
2. Our husbands/boyfriends will never be getting a membership to a country club. Ever.
If they insist on it, we will be learning how to play golf.
3. Members think their money entitles them to... pretty much everything. It doesn't.
"Mo Money, Mo Problems"
4. We frequently do things that are definitely not part of our job description.
We really love our though, most days.
5. We love our bosses and they love us (most of the time), but we get on their nerves and they don't let us forget it.
...so we give them outrageously expensive bottles of tequila to make up for it.
6. Sometimes we feel like we live at work. Seriously, you should see our break room.
Clothes, food, makeup, medicine...you name it, we got it.
7. More men over 75 have checked us out/hit on us than guys our own age whom we would actually consider dating.
It's a little depressing and it is always gross.
8. The number of drinks customers have bought us exceeds the number of drinks all guys outside of work have bought us. Ever.
"You get a shot, you get a shot, you get a shot!'
Once we're off the clock of course.
9. We know far too much about our regulars and we associate their faces with their usual drinks before actually learning or caring about their names.
"Hey, how are you? Good? Good. Gin and tonic, right?
10. Slow nights are the worst nights, but they make for some good memories.
"HotlIne Bling" dance parties, selfies and no tips...ahh the memz.
11. We work far too much and because of that our coworkers become our family. Our very dysfunctional, but loving, family.
Ride or die.
As often as we joke about quitting, fight through long shifts, and deal with random drama, we love what we do and we love that we do it together. Our job may not always be easy but doing it with great people makes it worth it. Make money, get turnt, amIright girls? Just don't forget your side work.
