It is starting to rain. Summer clothes are disappearing from stores. The Christmas ornaments are being displayed at the stores. And the worst of them all. SCHOOL IS COMING. I personally like school supply shopping more than actually going to school. And in my case is a bit different, I just moved to the United States and this high school experience has being scary. But I would like to share this small tips with you, hopefully I will follow them too.

1. Do Not Stress Out

It is not worth losing sleep for it. It is okay to be nervous and scared, that happens. But teachers and staff are there to help us. So ask questions, wander around the school to find your classes and locker if you are not familiar with the place.

2. Read. Read. Read.

And write too. If you are like me, I don't keep track of the days on summer or winter vacations. I stop working as a human being. Check your topics for the classes you are taking and do some light reading. Train yourself for school.

3. File Your Paper

Seriously, if you have anything that you or your parents need to file for school. Do it ASAP. Get everything set. Your schedules, class info, mail accounts, or anything you need for the future.

4. Stationery Is Awesome

Me: *clears throat* Hi, my name is Stella.

Everyone: Hi, Stella.

Me: *with no shame* And I am a stationery addict.

Go school supply shopping a week or two before school starts.

5. Get Involved

Yeii, people. I know, some people are not really good at making new friends, or maybe they are not interested. But knowing people from your classes and clubs is definitely something good.

6. Eat Breakfast and Lunch

This is how I am by third period. Please, eat.

7. Take It Easy With Those Tough Classes.

I honestly don't understand all the math, so I try to breath and ask for help. And don't be scared of asking questions to your teacher, it is their jobs to help you and teach you.

8. Ask Questions... Obviously...

Asking questions could save a life.

9. Sleep Well.

Really, your body will thank you.

10. Make Friends and Enjoy Yourself

11. This Is Not Like High School Musical

Unfortunately, there is a lot of childish and nonsense drama. Ignore it and you will be okay.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
