Coffee is a beautiful thing.

Like...

It's adored by college students, treasured by overtired parents, and a trusted motivator to employees everywhere. It's not always rainbows, pumpkin spice and all things nice. There are downsides to this magical creation that coffee lovers everywhere can relate to.

1. We will be late in order to get our coffee.

Better to be late with coffee in hand than to be on time with no coffee at all.

2. We don't function properly without it.

3. People criticize our dedication.

People will try to tell us that we waste our money, or that we drink too much coffee. We don't need that negativity in our lives.

4. If you want to hangout with us, we'll suggest a coffee date.

We're always that annoying person who suggests lunch spots that serve coffee. I mean, Starbucks has a solid food menu. You're welcome.

5. We get unreasonably irritated when people tell us we should switch to tea.

We don't want to hear about the healthy advantages that tea has over coffee. We love our coffee and there's no changing our minds.

6. We will complain if we don't have time to get our coffee.

7. We will go out of our way to our preferred drive thru.

If our favorite coffee establishment isn't on the way to our destination, we will shamelessly go the extra mile to grab a coffee. We know that gas is expensive, and we may be running late, but coffee isn't an option.

8. We are the first to volunteer ourselves as tribute to go on coffee runs for co-workers or classmates even if we've already made two trips for ourselves.

We will jump at any opportunity to get coffee, even if we've already paid our favorite coffee destination a couple of visits. So, when we hear someone ask if anyone wants to go on a coffee run, we will gladly take one for the team and make that third coffee run of the day.

9. We get attached to seasonal flavors and are devastated when they're discontinued.

We get so excited for different flavors that arrive with the seasons, but our hearts are broken on the day that they are discontinued.

10. The employees will recognize you by your voice and judge your multiple daily visits.

Some people would be embarrassed to make several trips to the drive thru. Coffee lovers lose that sense of embarrassment and embrace it. They already know your order, so it makes your trip faster. They'll joke with you, asking questions like, "back again?" or stating sarcastic cliches such as, "long time, no see!" However, we aren't ashamed. We just want our coffee.

11. We are absolutely heartbroken when we spill our coffee.

There is no greater tragedy to a coffee lover than to spill a beautiful, hard earned coffee. Nobody has time for that. There is no greater disappointment you could face throughout the day. It's in these devastating moments that we have to remember, tough times don't make people, strong coffee does.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
