11 Stand-Up Comedies To Watch On Netflix To Get You Through Midterms

Along with cheesy 80's romance movies, stand-up comedies are my guilty pleasure.

Well the leaves are falling, the temperature is getting cooler, and all our professors are making things due during the same exact time. You guessed it! Its midterm time! Though to give you a little break from all the stressing, here are some really funny stand-up comedies on Netflix right now that will make you laugh and get your mind off of school.

1. Jen Kirkman: I'm Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine)

Now don't let the title scare you off. This stand-up is far from a pity party. In this stand-up Jen Kirkman does a great job of empowering women but puts it in a way that makes you laugh and is a good show for both guys and girls to watch.

2. Bill Burr: I'm Sorry You Feel That Way

If you have not had the pleasure of seeing Bill Burr in action then you are missing out! He is honest and hilarious and I could not recommend his stand-ups more. Though only downside to this show in particular is that it is in black and white (have no idea why, he's bringing back the classics). Though a warning if you are not a big fan of swear words being said often then this is probably not the show for you.

3. Them Idiots

This stand-up brings up the hillbilly classics that we have all probably seen at one time or another. It features Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, and Bill Engvall. In their hilarious special they bring the good old country times to life with stories of their family, friends, and life experiences. Will have you laughing your head off, and make your roommate give you weird looks.

4. Tammy Pescatelli: Finding the Funny

Fun Fact: I re-watched this the other night and still died of laughter from all the jokes. This stand-up has a loud, strong, independent Italian comedian who gives you advise on how to find the funny in even the worse situations.

5. Steve Trevino: Relatable

Now I don't know about you but I first say some of Steve's work actually show up on my Facebook feed before I actually saw his special on Netflix. His funny, larger-than-life personality really makes the whole show as he tells you his hilarious difficulties with his wife and family.

6. Jeff Foxworthy & Larry the Cable Guy: We've Been Thinking

They're at is again! In this very recent comedy special these two pair up to give a little taste of the old days of their funny hillbilly comedy.

7. Eddie Murphy: Delirious

Now letting you know now this is not the Eddie Murphy we grew up with. Instead, this is young, raw Eddie Murphy back when he was just beginning his career as an actor and comedian. At first it is shocking to hear his vulgar language but after the shock wears off it really is a hilarious show.

8. Iliza Shelesinger: War Paint

Do not let the three star label scare you away this stand-up comedy is pure gold! Not only goes she capture the true attitude and feelings of a college girl she tells her own personal stories about going out, dating, etc. in a way that will make you feel better about your bad decisions.

9. Iliza Shelesinger: Freezing Hot

Yes, another one by Iliza! Back and better than ever she has more stories to tell and more laughing to be had by you.

10. Iliza Shelesinger: Confirmed Kills

If you can not tell by now Netflix and I really like Iliza Shelesinger. Sorry not sorry.

11. Anjelah Johnson: Not Fancy

I'm going to be honest and admit that I have not finished watching this one, but from the half that I have watched it is funny and witty so what more can you ask for.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
