The best part about being in college is living on campus. There's so much freedom, and you're with your best friends all the time. Of course, with anything good, there are some downfalls. This past week, New Jersey experienced one of those many struggles of living on campus. With well over a foot of snow, any college student was in their own personal hell due to the amount of snow we had received. Thankfully, it was all over the weekend, but that didn't help the fact that sidewalks remained a deathtrap come Monday morning. While we're all children at heart and enjoyed a good snowball fight, bracing the cold and now some snow and ice was a whole new battle I'm sure nobody was prepared for.
1. Sub zero temperatures.
If on Monday you actually made it to class alive, the wind froze you to your bone. Even after making it to the toasty academic buildings, you never seem to thaw before going back out to the cold.
2. The nostalgic feeling.
I don't want to adult today, so lets play in the snow. Of course heavy intoxication is involved, and it's only actually fun for about 5 minutes.
3. The school decides to plow sidewalks at the worst time.
Fearing for my life, see you never!
4. Everything is icy.
I've probably fallen eight times getting to this class. I should just quit now and go back home.
5. Your car is buried.
Have fun trying to get to work, or anywhere that isn't within walking distance!
6. Shoveling is the worst.
You're basically on your own, so no parents to help you with this one.
7. When your school doesn't close due to the snow.
Those poor commuters.
8. You can still have fun.
The best thing about college kids is that we're smart, and can even turn freezing to death into a party.
9. Everything looks prettier.
More often than not, your campus is already pretty, but the snow makes it so much better.
10. Classes being canceled.
My level of happiness is through the roof.
11. Sleeping.
With all the time spent inside, you can finally sleep for longer than five hours.
