The "my person" relationship is something that every twenty-something college kid longs to have. We all long to have someone who understands everything about us, and who we can go to for anything. Someone to shoot the breeze with and who will gladly stuff their face with you at Taco Bell. For many of us, we can find this in the very first friends we make in college. Here are eleven reasons we all can more than likely relate to.
1. More than likely you met them in the most awkward class and only exchanged glances, so now you can tell what they are thinking simply by the expression they have on their face.
The person in front of you smells like they haven't showered in weeks? They'll know it, even if they sit across the room from you.
2. TMI (too much information) disappeared a long time ago.
Texts about how many days it's been since they have showered or washed their hair becomes the norm.
3. They are okay listening to your "dark and twisty" side.![]()
Plotting to take over the world? Plan the demise of a professor you hate? It's all good.
4. You each have your own personal McDreamy or McSteamy, sometimes both, and often over analyze every two second conversation they have with you.

They told you you your shoe was untied or asked if they could borrow your class notes? Maybe that means something more.
5. You are completely comfortable questioning your sanity.
School and life can take a lot out of you and leave you questioning if you are indeed sane or not.
6. If you dislike a particular person, chances are they don't like them either ![]()
Because disliking someone often comes as two for the price of one.
7. They are honest when you can't be honest with yourself.
Because sometimes everyone needs a dose of reality.
8. Reassuring you that you are overthinking a situation multiple times becomes a speciality.
Sometimes you need to be told five thousand times you did the right thing.
9. You practice the art of thirty second dance parties.
What do you do after a test? We dance it out.
10. Long venting sessions about the same things over and over, no matter how many times you've heard them, is the norm.
Yes, you got out of that bad relationship three years ago, but you still talk about how terrible it was two years later.
11. Above all, you support each other through thick and thin.
We all need someone to lean on who has been there since the beginning of this part of our lives.
