In 2015, success came in many forms to comedian, actress and writer, Amy Schumer. Her signature form of comedy and personality has made this her year!

1. Her T.V. show

"Inside Amy Schumer" was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards and won Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

2. She hosted the MTV Music Awards

On April 12, she hosted the award show to promote her upcoming film "Trainwreck" She delivered jokes with her usual raunchy humor about the nominated movies and actors.

3. Trainwreck

The film about commitment phobic Amy, her character of the same name, was released on July 17. The movie was a commercial and critical success. Schumer was just nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the movie she wrote and starred in.

4. She began working with cousin, Senator Chuck Schumer, on gun control laws

On July 23, a gunman shot two women in a Louisiana theater showing "Trainwreck” After, the two began working on legislation that would stop allowing weapons to be sold without background checks at gun shows and online, fill gaps in the background check system itself, and stop arms trafficking of weapons across state lines. Schumer began using her large social media following, around 2 million followers on Twitter and Instagram, to announce the hashtag #AimingForChange to support the movement.

5. Her friendship with Jennifer Lawrence.

These two talented, hilarious and beautiful stars have blossomed an empowering new friendship. Both Schumer and Lawrence were recently nominated for a Golden Globe for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture -- Musical or Comedy" They joked about this ending their friendship. Then, to congratulate Jennifer Amy posted this photo of them dancing at a Billy Joel concert on top of his piano. Also, the two will be playing sisters in an upcoming movie written by the two of them and Amy’s sister, Kim.

6. She was an opening act for Madonna.

In September, Schumer performed as opening act for the iconic singer Madonna on three New York City dates of the Rebel Heart Tour.

7. She hosted SNL.


On October 10, she hosted Saturday Night Live with musical guest The Weeknd.

8. Her new comedy special was released.

On October 17, her new comedy special, entitled Amy Schumer Live at the Apollo, premiered on HBO.

9. THIS PICTURE.

The 2016 Pirelli calendar shot by Annie Leibovitz featured intimate portraits of 13 women who are shaping the world today, including Schumer. She was the only model who took a nude picture. The un-retouched picture was powerful especially alongside the caption in this tweet.

10. She went on tour.

She has 11 dates planned for this fall/winter and another date added for June 23, 2016 in New York at Madison Square Garden.

11. She is one of "Time" magazine's 100 most influential people.

Schumer was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people. Her co-star in "Trainwreck" Tilda Swinton, lovingly called her an "honesty bomb" and "the one most likely to be on your side when the bullies circle in"


This talented and out-spoken comedian has gained fans, notoriety, awards, and many other accomplishment in 2015. Schumer's success will no doubt continue into 2016.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace.
