College these days seems like a competition of who has the hardest major - the winner? All college students. College is hard, every major has its challenges, so stop degrading any major that's not science or nursing.
Nothing irks me more than hearing college students degrading other majors.
College is hard in general, so why can't we just congratulate everyone on doing the whole college thing? Just because you're majoring in pre-med or biology doesn't mean majors that aren't science don't have their challenges.
I've been told MANY times that psychology is not a science - in reality, it is a behavioral science - but also that it is an easy major. Except there's not much you can do with a bachelor's in psychology unless you plan on not working with patients. Otherwise, you have to at least get a master's degree.
Yes, some majors are more challenging than others for a bachelor's - but they're also done after 4 years.
Even education majors have to get their master's degree at some point, and grad school is VERY challenging. I am not saying some majors are not more challenging - because they are - I'm saying that you shouldn't degrade other majors. The lesson here is that some majors face their biggest challenges in undergrad, and others face their biggest challenges in grad school.
So before you get pissed off over your challenging major, remember that other majors will face challenges eventually, whether it is in grad school or in the workforce.
