11 Empowerment Quotes For Women

Since the start of my freshmen year of college, I have made some incredible friends. It has been refreshing to have women around me who want to be friends with and uplift me, instead of tear me down, as most believe female friendships to always be like. As a result of this, I have compiled a list of quotes that empower my friends and me through a Pinterest board we share together in order to keep chasing our dreams, and to keep being great friends to each other.

1. "Embrace the glorious mess that you are." - Elizabeth Gilbert

All of us are a mess at some point, or, maybe all the time. That is okay. Embracing it to the best of your ability takes time, but if you can do it, you will start to feel better about everything that is going on in your life.

2. "Do things that fill your soul, not your ego, and you will be happy."

The soul is important. You have to do things that bring you to peace, that help you hit the reset button and set you up to be ready to tackle life once again.

3. "Beauty may be dangerous, but intelligence is lethal."

Feeling beautiful in your own skin is oh so important, one cannot deny that. As well, feeding your mind in the form of words and experience is oh so important as well. Your mind is like a muscle, the more reps you do with it, the stronger it will become.

4. "Be Intentional."

Always. This is an important lesson and piece of advice and really does not need more of an explanation.

5. "Conquer from within."

Within you, is a strong person. One that can conquer everything, but the first step in doing that is being able to be comfortable in your own skin, which takes time. Once that happens, one is able to conquer anything, but it all starts within.

6. "Life is tough my darling, but so are you." - Stephanie Bennett-Henry

You are tough, strong, smart, beautiful, witty, etc. You have got this life!

7. "Be stubborn about your goals, but flexible about your methods."

This is one that I hold close to my heart. Having a goal is so important, or more than one goal, but one cannot be stuck in one way of getting to the finish line of that goal. We do not have control over many, many parts of our lives, and as a result of that, you have to be ready to roll with anything and everything that happens. You will succeed and reach your goal, it just may not be the way you thought you would.

8. "Stay humble. Work hard. Be kind."

Enough said.

9. "She believed she could so she did."

The best way to accomplish a goal is to believe in yourself. You have to have confidence in your abilities and your work ethic, and you can accomplish great things.

10. "Failure is nothing more than a chance to revise your strategy."

Failure can be looked at in two ways. When one fails at something, they can look at it and nit pick at everything they did wrong. Another way to look at failure is a learning experience. Failure has the ability to teach you what you do not want to do again and how you can change up your plan.

11. "Embrace who you are and don't make apologies for being yourself."

This is a hard thing to accomplish, but once it is done, so many doors begin to open. Do not say sorry for being who you are. Each of us on this planet is original, even twins, and we need to use our strengthens and weaknesses to impact the world, in a large or small way.

Thank you, to my wonderful friends who inspired this article. Keep being your wonderful selfs, and for anyone else who reads this, keep being your wonderful and unique self as well!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
