It is said that every generation, the percentage of people who are farmers decreases. But for the few of us who still are lucky enough to live and work on a farm, we realize what a blessing it is to be a farmer.
1. You aren't the only life that matters.
No matter the weather, time of day, or day of the year, other creatures depend on you to keep them alive.
2. The struggle of getting up early is a lot less of a struggle than missing out on what the morning brings.
Some of the most amazing things happen before the sun comes up.
3. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing the accomplishments of a hard day's work.
Mud on your jeans is a sign of success.
4. You don't know how strong you are until you push yourself.
Suddenly, stacking a couple hundred bales of hay isn't so bad.
5. Similarly, physical strength isn't the only thing that matters.
Mental toughness is what gets you through the hard times.
6. You can't do everything yourself.
There's a reason farm families stick together.
7. While you can work hard to be successful, you can't control every outcome.
Sometimes it's not the Lord's plan for you to have a prosperous crop.
8. You learn from failure.
Not just how to succeed next time, but how to be humbled by it.
9. Mother Nature is a thing to be admired, respected, and feared.
Sometimes she will grace you with good fortune. Sometimes she will not.
10. A child who learns to grow or raise something is a child who will know how to grow themselves.
Children who live on farms learn the value of nurturing.
11. Contributing to maintaining God's Green Earth is something that cannot be replaced.
You won't find an app for this life.
