Everyone knows the typical introvert stereotype: anti-social. Although crowds aren't something we are fond of, we do like spending one on one time with our close friends. We tend to be good listeners and make for great friends, but we would rather do so from the comfort of our own home. We don't hate people, we just like spending time deep in thought without the presence of others to disturb us.
Introverts are a unique group of people, and there are some things only we can understand.
1. You'll use any excuse to avoid making plans
"My mom said no," "My cat is sick" and "I have homework" are all valid excuses to remain in the comfort of your own home.
2. You hate crowds
Parties, concerts and school dances are things you haven't experienced because the thought of being surrounded by people is too frightening to encounter. You prefer one on one time if you have to socialize.
3. You only have a few close friends
You're not the type of person that goes out of their way to make friends, and you don't like crowds, so only having a few friends is fine with you.
4. Your parents encourage you to get out more
Your parents get beyond excited when you bring friends home or say you will be out late at a social gathering because you spend most of your time curled up in your room watching Netflix.
5.You dread running errands
You dread going to the grocery store, going to school, and anything else that forces you to leave your home. However, you feel a sense of accomplishment after completing such a task.
6. Flirting is definitely a no go
Flirting may seem fun, but it's really hard when you can't make eye contact for more than a few seconds or bear the thought of having to be especially outgoing.
7. You need to have alone time frequently to function
In order to present yourself in a pleasant manner, you have to spend quite of bit of time by yourself because socializing for extended periods of time puts you in a grumpy mood.
8. Your idea of a "date" is staying home, watching Netflix, and ordering pizza
To you, a quality date is spending on one on time with your significant other without the lurking eyes of others all around you. You are perfectly fine with at home dates 100 percent of the time.
9. The thought of having a roommate in college terrifies you
The thought of living in such close quarters with someone you may or may not know is something you want to put off as long as possible, and it seems impossible to mentally prepare yourself for having to adjust so drastically.
10. People constantly ask you if something is wrong because you never talk
No, nothing is wrong. I'm just quiet, okay?
11. Your ideal day is one where you can remain in your room all day
It doesn't matter if it's rainy, sunny, or snowy because the weather won't spoil your plans of curling up in bed with your favorite book and snacks, and those are the days you look forward to the most.
