With a campus as beautiful as ours, it's hard to imagine ever wanting to leave it; however, when the time comes that you do get an itch to leave 'The Bubble,'check out these places:

1. Grab dinner at Blue Rock Pizza.

You haven't lived until you've tried their pizza. Sure, The Grille has good pizza, but Blue Rock has great pizza.

2. Go hiking at Hanging Rock State Park.

It's a little bit of a drive from school, but it's totally worth it. The view is amazing, especially at sunset.

3. Stop in and eat some crepes at Penny Path.

No offense to Carolina Diner, but Penny Path is definitely the best breakfast place in High Point.

4. Get your caffeine fix at DeBeen Espresso.

Cool atmosphere and great drinks. You really can't beat it.

Bonus: You'll feel right at home with their giant indoor fountain.

5. Take a weekend trip to Asheville.

Honestly, a weekend trip probably isn't even enough. There's tons to do in Asheville, and the charm of the city is unbeatable.

6. Visit your favorite furry animals at Friendly Pets.

Located in Friendly Shopping Center in Greensboro, you can always find some HPU kids playing with the puppies and kittens. It's the perfect pick-me-up to help get through finals.

7. Fill up on treats at Granny's Donuts.

Don't get me wrong, I love Krispy Kreme, but Granny's Donuts really can't be beat.

8. Find some bargains at Dillard's at Oak Hollow Mall.

Is Oak Hollow Mall creepy and almost completely abandoned? Yes. Will that stop me from finding cute, cheap clothes at Dillard's? No.

9. Pop in to Green Bean in downtown Greensboro.

Clearly I have a caffeine addiction since two different coffee shops made this list. Green Bean is located in Greensboro, within walking distance of a ton of cool restaurants, bars, and cute shops.

10. Drive by the World's Largest Chest of Drawers

Obviously, being the furniture capital of the U.S., High Point does it big.

11. Scope out the graffiti wall in downtown High Point.

Within walking distance from the High Point train station, the graffiti wall is ever-changing and always exciting.

Next time you're tempted to say there's nothing to do off campus, check out this list and plan your next adventure.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
