Life can sometimes just get really stressful really fast. There are moments when you feel like you simply can’t bear it any longer and you might just spontaneously combust.

I should know. I feel like there are days when I’m heading home that the weight of the entire world is sitting on my shoulders. I feel heavy, miserable, exhausted and stressed.

In those moments there’s only one person I can turn to, and it’s no one of this world. Jesus is so much bigger than all of our burdens. He’s so much bigger than our sufferings or our futile struggles.

Here are some Bible verses to help lift you up and give you strength when you feel like your own is failing.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
-Matthew 11:28-30

Something to note about this verse: it’s written in red. Jesus himself is telling you to come to Him when you’re burdened or overwhelmed and He will lighten the load.

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’” declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
-Jeremiah 29:11

Just when you feel like He’s not quite listening to you… He tells you that He already knows the plans He’s got in store for you… and spoiler alert: They’re plans for a hope and a future!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and He will make your paths straight.”
-Proverbs 3:5-6

I think the most important thing to highlight here is in all your ways submit to Him and THEN He will make your paths straight. That’s definitely not the easiest thing in the world to do. But you can.

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’”
-Matthew 19:26

Another direct quote from Jesus Himself. Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING is impossible with God.

“You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory”
-Psalm 73:24

He guides us. Afterwards, we get to be with Him forever in glory! What an amazing thing to look forward to.

“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
-1 Timothy 4:12

I love this verse because it shows me that age is just a number. No matter how old or how young I am, I can always be spending time being an example for other believers.

“If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen”
-1 Peter 4:11

Every word we say, every action we take… it can be done in the most Godly way possible. We can find our strength in Jesus, and use that to provide us with strength and power to continue on our paths.

“Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.”
-John 1:3

He made us. Let’s not forget that He made everything. So that giant mountain that were facing… we’ve got the creator of it living inside of us. We’re able to overcome.

“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
-Philippians 4:13

More confirmation. We can do any and all things through Him.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
-Psalm 139: 14

You’re a wonderful creation. No matter how the world makes you feel at times.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
-Romans 5:8

We’re sinners, guys. And I think that’s why the world gets us down so easily. And we choose to run in the opposite direction of God’s love… a lot. I haven’t the slightest idea why we do it. But we do. And this verse proves His love for us.

He loves us SO much. He cares for us SO much. He has SO many plans for us that He sent His own son to die for us.

So no matter how long the day seems, no matter how big the challenge your facing is, remember that He loves you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
