I love worshipping God with every fiber of my being. Honestly, if I could worship all day with my friends and family I would be the happiest girl on the planet. Not only does worship allow you to know God your Father on a more intimate level but it also facilitates revelation in His presence. When we take a step toward our Divine Creator, He meets us where we are with a strength and grace that is unrivaled.

This week I decided to choose ten songs that have seen me through immense pain and struggle. God's power is endless and I have found the most strength in times of worship. I pray that each of these songs may help you to encounter God and allow Him to heal your wounds, trample your enemies and carry you through your fight.

1. "Grace Like a Wave" by Elevation Worship

I put this song at the beginning of the list because it, in my opinion, is both a praise and a worship song. This song will allow you to enter into God's presence with praise over His grace. You will begin to encounter the immense healing and love that God has for you as you sink into your worship experience.

2. "Spirit Move" by Kalley Heiligenthal

Kalley Heiligenthal is not a stranger to ushering in the Holy Spirit. Like any artist at Bethel, she has spent countless hours pursuing God and you can feel His presence all over this song. Allow the music to help you ask the Spirit to move in your life while you rest in sweet surrender.

3. "Secret Place" by Phil Wickham

Secret Place is the perfect description of God's immense love for us and the intimate relationship He desires with each of His children. Even when we are feeling unbearable pain we can run into the secret place God has created for us and find rest.

4. "Even When It Hurts (Praise Song)" by Hillsong UNITED

I have no words to describe how deeply this song has affected me. When the pain in the midst of my struggle became unbearable, I went to a Hillsong concert and was rocked by the vulnerability with which Taya Smith sang this song. I broke down in tears knowing that although my circumstances seemed bleak, my God was fighting for me and I could praise Him in the midst of my storm.

5. "Hold on to Me" by Elevation Worship

This is a declaration to our God that He will hold on to each of us no matter what we are facing. We can come against what seems like an army of thousands and know that God is fighting for us and we will come out the other side in victory. We are fighting the good fight and God always has our best interests in mind.

6. "Unstoppable Love" by Jesus Culture feat. Kim Walker-Smith

I don't think we realize how much God loves us half the time. This song states that God would literally, not figuratively or in some poetic nonsense that makes a song sound pretty, but He would literally wage a war if we or anyone else tried to stop Him from loving us, His children. Just let that sink in for a minute and try not to burst into tears.

7. "Gracious Tempest" by Hillsong Young and Free

Allow this song to be your declaration to God that you understand how much He loves you and how gracious He has been to you in your life. Sit in your Father's presence and be flooded by His almighty glory. He just wants to love His children unconditionally, so let it happen. Let the King of kings flood you with His unending love.

8. "Closer Than You Know" by Hillsong UNITED

It is probably pretty apparent by now that I have a strong affinity for Taya Smith, not unlike most Christian girls this day and age. But I love watching her sincerity. She is unashamed of who God has created her to be and you can feel both the pain she has been through and the immense recognition of God's grace for her when she sings. This song, if you surrender, is a revelation of how close God remains to us at all times. Even when we are going through a painful situation, He is right by our side.

9. "You Are My God" by C3 Music

I love this song not only because it was written by my church's home church but also because it reminds me that our God is both my God and your God. That seems like a simple statement but God is MY GOD. He belongs to me and I belong to him. Sink into His presence as He enraptures you with His love and shows you your identity in His midst.

10. "Prince of Peace" by Hillsong UNITED

I wanted this song to be the last on my list because I have declared many of these songs from a place of pain, and they have become war cries in times of desperation. But this song, oh this song. It reminds me that God is still there when I cannot see, hear or feel Him. The Prince of Peace found me in my place of pain and isolation. He brought me out of the storm and into the light so that He may heal me, protect me and show me His love.

I hope each of these songs brings you a fresh revelation in the midst of your pain and struggle. I have been greatly impacted by each of these worship songs and I pray in Jesus name you may have the same revelation and anointing I found through these anthems. Declare them over your life, repeat the promises God has given His children and know that you will make it through, because you are His.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
