November 18th, 2016 - The first day of snow! What a beautiful, tragic sight to see isn't it? Bring out the hot cocoa, fuzzy blankets and Christmas decorations. Minnesota has always been known for the scary winters, but I love MN winters. We actually get snow, and that's rare for some places around the world. I thought it would be cool to show some photos of winter from all around the world because not every place looks like Minnesota in the middle of December (hehe!).

I will start off by showing a representation of what everyone pictures Minnesota winters to look like. They're not wrong. This is an actual picture of Minnesota.

Okay, so it can get pretty bad in Minnesota, but look at Duluth in the winter. There really is beauty in every disaster.

Searching for different countries to showcase in this article, I thought I would stick to most countries that actually get snow like we do. There are some beautiful locations out there ladies and gents!

1. Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany

Wow, this photo reminds me of Santa's hometown. I feel like elves should be walking around with stacks of presents, and Mrs. Clause should be hanging out a window waving.

2. Mt. Buller, Australia

I have now added this place to my Bucket list. Look at the difference between the mountains and the trees. This is absolutely breathtaking.

3. Queenstown, New Zealand

I have now added this destination as well. This picture could be the postcard for New Zealand. I wonder if the price of living there is affordable for college students?

4. Grise Fiord, Canada

Looks a lot like Minnesota, eh? Minus the mountains, and lots of flat land. It's basically Minnesota.

5. Damüls, Austria

I read that this town gets roughly 30 feet of fluffy snow every year. Pretty magical!

6. London, England

I love this picture. This makes me want to travel there in any type of weather because I know it's still just as beautiful.

7. South Africa

This doesn't look too much different than the summer's in South Africa, but there is still something different about the land, isn't there?

8. Prague, Czech Republic

I would love to take a helicopter over this city to see what it looks like with all of the pointy buildings.

9. Romania

Insert ancient goddesses singing from the window cell.

10. Paris, France

I really thought Paris would impress me more with their Winters. It is still beautiful.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
