After all the holiday joy passes and we dive into the depths of winter, we can’t help but to start feeling the seasonal depression. Months like January can be a fresh start to a new year for some people, but also brutally depressing and isolating for many others who struggle during this time of the year.

Winter—also known as cuffing season—is actually be a great time to be social and turn the inclement weather into a perfect date opportunity. There seems to be something a bit mystically romantic about snowy scenery and cuddling up with a significant other on cold winter nights.

So, next time it snows, grab either your lover, friend with benefits, or random Bumble date and adventure out into the winter wonderland in the most romantic way.

Here are a few ways to turn a snow day into the perfect date:

1.) A romantic walk in the snowy scenery

This is the most classic date of them all—bundling up and adventuring out into the winter wonderland. It’s a perfect chance to talk and get to know one another or have some alone time to be all cute and cuddly to keep each other warm. Also, you probably won’t have to worry about awkward PDA because there most likely won’t be many people around. Just make sure your lips aren’t frozen when you try to make-out.

2.) Sledding

This can be really fun, especially as a group date with a couple of friends. If you can find a local spot that has some safe, snowy hills, this is a great date night or snow day out with friends. You can make teams and race or double up and sit on your lovers lap for a romantic ride—just be careful not to crash into each other.

3.) Snowman-building contest

Do you want to build a snowman? This is obviously only possible if it snows enough and if it’s even the right type of snow—but if you get hit with the firm and fluffy good stuff then be sure to have a snowman contest with your significant other. In this day and age you can especially use social media to use votes to determine the winner. It’s always fun to win bragging rights—or to use a sexual incentive (wink wink).

4.) A hot date with hot chocolate

What is better on a snow day than warming up with some delicious cocoa? You can either have a cute date in a café, or cuddle up inside and make your own. A perfect date can either begin or end with great conversation shared over a few cups of a classic wintertime favorite—hot chocolate.

5.) Wrestle or snuggle in snow gear

Sometimes the best thing to do as an adult is to act like a child. Remember back in the day when you would meet your neighborhood friends outside and just wrestle around in the snow, make snow angels and enjoy each other’s company? Well, turns out it’s even better to do as an adult—especially with your S.O.

6.) Sexy snowball fight

This is a great idea for a playful snow date. Its good exercise, free, flirty, fun and a great way to show off your competitive side. If there’s enough snow, you could even get real intense and build a snow fort! Relive your childhood memories—the possibilities are endless. Just try not to nail anyone in the face.

7.) Ice Skating

This is a common thing to do since it’s probably one of the only outdoor activities open while it’s snowing. It can be cute to help each other skate and funny to watch each other fall—or catch their fall. This is a classic winter date that will never get old.

8.) Campfire

You probably don’t exactly want to do this while it’s snowing, so after a snowfall, a campfire can be a really nice date night. Put on some good music, pour a few drinks of whisky and sit around the fire looking at the stars. You'll be sure to stay warm one way or another—hopefully with body heat!

9.) Eat s'mores indoors by the fireplace

If you really can’t stand going outside in the snow, there are other options for indoor snow dates. Drinking some whisky or warm hot chocolate, snuggling up by the fireplace and watching the snowfall through the window is a perfectly romantic date night. Trust me, you’ll really enjoy keeping each other warm on a cold winter’s night.

10.) Binge watch winter movies in bed all day

Again, if you hate the outdoors during the winter wonderland, this is a great way to enjoy the seasonal spirit by living vicariously through winter movies. Cuddle up with your S.O. and watch a day-long series of classics in order to have the most relaxing, chill and romantic snow date ever.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
