10 Ways to Say "I Love Me"

To the past that has sculpted my being, to the present that has my full attention, and to the future that has my trust, I say "I love me."

10 Ways to Say "I Love Me"
Joshua Chism

Today I am writing you a prescription for "self-love," a manual that pertains to masterminding the art of your own heart. A guide that will prevent you from bashing, denying, failing, and deceiving your own self. Imagine a world where transparency was actually transparent. Or love was actually love... It amazes me how people say "I love you" to others, but have never said "I love you" to themselves. Self-love means "the regard for ones own being." It is a mixture of ones morals and desires; it should never be tampered with, but only harnessed to reach happiness and sufficiency. Here are 10 ways to love your self better than anyone else can ever love you:

1. Know your Worth
Never put yourself in a box; the beauty of being human is growth and expansion.
2. Compliment
If no one is going to give you a compliment, give it to your self. Never search for other peoples words of endearment if you have the capacity to do it yourself.
3. Never Settle
At no time should you ever settle. Understand what you have accomplished, but tackle what has been neglected. Change is power and power enlightens change.
4. DO NOT COMPARE
Comparing is a disease of the mind that is damaging to your own soul and it rips the truth out of your heart.
5. Get Over It
Whatever it is, just get over it. Take the opportunity right now to think of whatever the problem or situation is, and have a moment of silence for it because it is over and done with. Do not bring it up or go near it; turn away and live.
6. Take Yourself On a Date
Congratulations! You owe yourself a date. Take yourself to a movie, a nice restaurant, hell, go skydiving... Just go it alone and be happy. Dress yourself however you want, eat whatever you want, and most of all DO whatever you want. Give yourself the permission. You could even put out on the date, if you want... It's your date.
7. Take Responsibility
Whether it's being in a bad relationship, being in confrontation, lying, crying, laziness, overweight, underweight, depression, thought of suicide, attempted suicide, breaking the law, pushing yourself away from friends and family, or whatever you are doing that is hindering you from introducing you to your true self, take accountability for it with no clauses.
8. Stop Apologizing
When you apologize for being, you say sorry to yourself. That is the person you are truly hurting.
9. Humble yourself
You owe it to yourself to have self-love, but you owe it to the world to be humble. With that comes patience; you have to know your place and where and what you bring to the table.
10. Peace
End the war between self vs. self. Cultivate your own walk as if you actually have somewhere to go. Hold no sorrow with your own decisions, and think about what you want, but do not slow down time, for life is life and it will always be life...
Self-love is not arrogance, it is not idolizing, it is not selfishness, and it is not weakness, but it is simply the prescription to life. Try this: go to the nearest mirror and look your self in the eyes and tell yourself what you want through this body, what you like about yourself, and what you desire. Try to be as honest as possible, for the lies you tell yourself are more damaging than those that come from anywhere else.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
