With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, it may be time to start thinking about what to get your sweetheart. We’re college students – I get it, but maybe there are ways to embrace the one you love without going bankrupt.

1. A bouquet of flowers

Of course you can go extravagant and pick up a $50 bouquet of flowers, but there are cheap bouquets out there that get the job done just as well. Women love flowers, and in this case, it’s quality over quantity. You can’t go wrong with flowers.

2. Stuffed animal(s)

This works for both men and women, really. Stuffed animals are symbolic, and fellas, you can bet your girl will sleep with it every night. Once again, you don’t need to buy one of those over-sized teddy bears – just one good enough to cuddle.

3. A romantic dinner date

A well thought-out dinner date is sure to put a smile on her face. Tell her to dress up, feed her, gaze passionately into her eyes while you tell her how beautiful she is, and surely you’re in the clear. Men, don’t forget to shower and put on deodorant, and a nice shirt wouldn’t hurt.

4. A movie

Take her to a scary movie, and she’ll literally be in your arms. Or take her to that romantic movie she’s been talking about for weeks (50 Shades Darker), and she’ll love you forever. You can’t really lose with this one.

5. A romantic night in

Other than a bottle of wine and maybe some popcorn, this option is free. Just you and her, and maybe something on Netflix – a relaxing night to unwind and catch up on Shameless.

6. A manicure

Every woman loves getting her nails done. Also, men, this is a bonus for you too. She’ll be able to scratch your back with crisply cut nails.

7. A museum

Whether it be an art or history museum, culture is never a bad thing. Many museums are free or really inexpensive, and women love experiencing new things. Spending time doing something that neither of you have done is sure to bring the two of you closer.

8. Star gazing

Just you, her and a blanket. Nothing is more romantic than watching the stars move across the sky. You might even catch a shooting star.

9. A charm bracelet

Women have loved jewelry since the dawn of human existence. They love charms and charm bracelets. If she already has a bracelet, buy her charms that remind her of you. She won’t be able to glance down without thinking about how much she cares about you.

10. Ice skating

Skating is cheap, fun and romantic. Give her a chance to reach out and grab your hand. While you two laugh and have fun, you will only be making your connection stronger. If her skating skills aren’t that great, be the man she has to lean on.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be the financial strain that forces you to drop out of school. With a few of these ideas, you’ll be able to keep your girl and your wallet happy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
