10 Uplifting Songs For The Depressed College Student
FAC

As a college student who battles depression and anxiety, I know what it’s like to feel like giving up. But I choose to stay in the fight because I know that there is so much more out there than what I am currently going through. Jesus has orchestrated his plan perfectly to help me grow, and I will stand true on his word. To the depressed college student, you are not alone and there is so much more in store for you than you can see right now. Here are 10 songs that carry me through these dark times that I hope will inspire you too see the light at the end of the tunnel.

1)“Trust in You” by Lauren Daigle

Lafayette Native Lauren Daigle is by far one of my favorite Christian singers. This is an amazing song and well worth the listen.

2)“Stronger” by Mandisa

Whenever I feel weak, this song makes me stronger!

3) “My Victory” by Crowder

I am in love with this song by Crowder because it gives me so much hope to continue living because God DIED for me. He died for YOU so that you could live the life you were always meant to live. College is hard, but you can overcome whatever you are going through because he is your victory.

4) “Priceless” by King & Country

Whenever I get depressed, I doubt my self-worth, but this song encourages me to see the truth and to know that I am “Priceless” to Jesus, no matter what my depression says. If you feel like you are worthless, listen to this feel good song and learn to appreciate your worth. God says you are more precious than gold an all the jewels, so why not embrace it?

5) “Life is worth living” by Justin Bieber

When Justin Bieber first released his highly-anticipated album Purpose, I was touched at how much he has grown over the years, but this particular song stuck out to me most from the album because of the lyrics and the meaning. Whenever I felt like taking my life, I would play this song and think about all that life has to offer. This is a great song to listen to if you feel like nothing else matters. 10/10 recommend it.

6) “He Said” by Group 1 Crew

This is my go-to song whenever I feel like I am not important or when it seems like my depression will win. This is what God has to say about me and you. Great song!

7) “Through Your Eyes” by Britt Nicole

After listening to this song, I’ve learned to not believe what others say about me but what God says I am. I will forever be in love with this song.

8) "Oceans” by Hillsong United

This is one of my favorite all-time favorite songs because it really encourages me to trust in the lord even when things seem like they are falling apart. Listen to this song and be encouraged.

9) "These Days” by Mandisa

When I have bad days, which happens a lot, I play this song to remind myself that this will only make me stronger. I learn to appreciate the bad days because they make me who I am today. If ever you’re having a rough day, listen to this sweet song and be thankful for the bad days.

10) “Happy” by Pharrell Williams

Because who doesn’t love being happy?! This feel good song will make you dance and smile, even when you want to frown. Just think of the minions when you play this song and hopefully it feels you with joy.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
