Whether you have one friend that has all of these qualities or a friend for each category, we all need these kinds of people in our lives to keep us sane.

Friends see us at our highest and lowest points, and they are in it for the long haul. Seek good people to surround yourself with, and you will definitely feel the love.

1. The one that sends you funny videos

You love seeing the Twitter notification that this person sent you a DM because you know they sent you something that will make you laugh.

These friends especially come in handy when you are feeling down, or need to distract yourself from reality. They manage to find the funniest videos to make you look like a crazy person laughing out loud in public.

2. The one that gives you new music to check out

Whether they send a song to you because it reminds them of you, or they make a playlist that really speaks to your soul, this friend has the most diverse Spotify that they want to share with the world. They can send you recommendations at any time for any mood, which is definitely a necessity.

3. The one that always has a hug to make you feel better

Sometimes words can’t be used to solve problems, so this friend always comes through with a big comforting hug to show you some love. Keep these friends close because you can never have too many hugs in your life.

4. The one that makes sure you got home safely

Who doesn’t love a thoughtful, “did you make it home okay” text? It’s such a simple gesture, but it shows these friends care about you and want to make sure you’re all safe.

5. The one that listens to all of your rants

These friends get to see a pretty real side of you, and they still love you through it.They sit and listen as you rant about your long day or an infuriating experience you dealt with. They let you rant and don’t judge the slight overreactions you may have at times.

6. The party animal

We all need the party animal to get us out of bed and out on the town. They are always down to go out and have a good time, and will definitely make sure that you have fun too.You have had some crazy experiences with this friend and can always count on them for a memorable time.

7. The one that goes above and beyond

This is the friend who brings you chicken noodle soup when you aren’t feeling well, or they write you a super long letter to remind you how loved you are when your spirits are low.

This friend cares deeply about their loved ones and takes care of everyone before themselves because they want to make sure their friends feel loved at all times.

8. The one that you call anytime, anywhere

You may only have a five minute break to chat, but you will call them anyway just to talk about any random events that have happened since the last time you talked to them, which was probably within the past 24 hours.

9. The long-distance one

Whether you met this friend on a study abroad trip, you are childhood friends, or you go to colleges in different states, these friendships are a little harder to maintain since you don’t get to see this person as often as you would like, but when you reunite, you make an insane amount of memories in a short amount of time. You can count on this friend to give advice from a more unbiased viewpoint and you love catching up with them whenever possible.

10. The motivational one

What would we do without the motivational friend? The one who can pull up the best quotes to give you a push when you’re feeling down or that offers the best advice for any situation you find yourself struggling with. They always seem to have the answer, and you can count on them to give it to you straight and make sure you are making the best decisions for yourself. They are constantly building others up, and we all need some of that positivity in our lives.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
