There is no denying that Golden Retrievers are the world's best dogs. You may love your Cocker Spaniel, Great Dane or Dalmatian but who doesn't love a big, goofy golden? We are always the first ones to greet you when you come home from a long day at work, are always up for snacks and are always there for you when you are feeling down. We are loyal, fun and always up for food. And I happen to know that their owners aren't too bad either. If you dare to disagree, I highly suggest you consider these 10 reasons why goldens are the best (from my humble opinion, Snickers Davis):
1. We are always smiling.
Have you ever seen a sad golden retriever? Does this picture answer your question? Never in my entire life have I ever seen a fellow golden retriever who was not smiling and wagging their tail. Bless up.
2. We make the best travel companions.
My owner has taken me on boat rides, hikes, to the farmers' markets and to the barn. We can never turn down an adventure especially if I get to be featured on Instagram. And I never forget my tennis balls.
3. We are always up for making new friends!
And are very good at it, too. We always shake everyone's hands. You never know when a stranger will give you treats and you have a friend for life!
4. We LOVE to swim.
As you can see, swimming is my favorite thing. And treats and food and catching balls and frisbees-- really anything and everything.
5. And road trips!
Especially to the ice cream stand! But sometimes my owner says ice cream isn't good for dogs. But she gives me it anyways! Here is a picture of my owner and I on a trip to our favorite ice cream stand CREAM AT THE TOP.
6. And we love to take pictures with our owners.
Every day is a new adventure and there is always something to celebrate.

8. However, we aren't the smartest dogs...
A picture of me somehow getting my head stuck in the fence in the back yard. I almost got the squirrel. Almost. If someone could remind me not to do this again, that would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps someone should notify the fence company to not make such small holes in the fence. Hmm.
9. And sometimes we make our owners hold us when we are too tired to walk even when we are over a year old.
They can't help but fall for our big puppy eyes. Walking is tiring. Besides, look how happy my owner looks.
10. We love our owners!
And they love us back!
