While being in college and having freedom and independence are wonderful, it's so easy to miss the old days where your biggest concerns were wondering when snack time was and hoping you got a gold sticker on your homework. So in honor of finals and spending every last second studying and trying to remember everything you've learned this past semester, let's reminisce on the good days of elementary school.
1. Snack time.
Because learning how to read and write is exhausting. Getting grapes and a carton of milk was always the best time of the day.
2. Recess
Because there was truly no better feeling than mastering the monkey bars and showing off in front of your friends. And there was nothing quite as magical as hearing those recess bells.
3. Nap time
Although napping might as well be an occupation for college students, those kindergarten naps where you didn't have to worry about getting behind on any work or obligations is something I miss most about being little.
4. Art Smart
Once a month, instead of normal rotations, you were surprised with art smart which was comparable to Christmas morning (okay maybe I'm exaggerating) but how can you complain about painting with marbles in the middle of the day?
5. Holidays
6. Stickers
7. Show and Tell
8. Field Trips
You mean we get to leave school AND still get snack time? Count me in! Trips to the planetarium and museum were always a treat.
9. Book Fairs
10. The 100th Day of School
Dressing up like an elderly person, spending all day making arts and crafts, and counting "100" out of just about anything you could find was the way to an elementary school kid's heart. Easily one of the best days of the entire school year.
