10 Things To Do While In Miami

Miami Beach

Like every tourist, you would probably love to go to the beach and enjoy the blue water of South Beach. In addition, your hotel or place to stay might even be in Miami Beach. I recommend enjoying the island for a day or two and look for other alternatives. I also prefer Nikki Beach in comparison to south beach, but a lot more people frequent South Beach, if that is your scenery.

Key Biscayne

If you are still feeling like Beaching, no worries, you can head south of Miami Beach to another island Called Key Biscayne with plenty of more sandy beaches. If you head to Key Biscayne, your number one stop should be the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Beach. This was once an escape route for American slaves to the Bahamas; thus, making an understandable explanation for the beautiful lighthouse. Beware, Key Biscayne is a rich area and driving there is advised. Do NOT Uber there; it will be very difficult to return to your destination. Trust me I have witnessed this first hand.

Wynwood

Head to Wynwood the art district of Miami. Wynwood is my personal favorite spot in Miami. It is home to the most beautiful artwork in the city. The art there is very urban and is display throughout the whole district. There is always a fiesta on Saturdays around the famous Wynwood art walls. The art walls is where famous artists display their work for a certain period of time. Wynwood is very live every second Saturday of the month. You can find food trucks, merchants, and live music there.

Vizcaya Museum and Garden

Feeling like royalty? I know your next destination. Vizcaya is a villa formerly owned by a well-known businessman in coconut grove overlooking key Biscayne. Vizcaya’s garden is a popular attraction for prom, wedding, and all sorts of pictures in general.

Caribbean Life

Miami is home to a very large Caribbean population. They even have small areas such as little Havana and little Haiti. You must visit these cool areas and embrace the Caribbean culture. I recommend trying some authentic Caribbean cuisine. Versaille is a world famous Cuban restaurant in little Havana. The prices are very reasonable and the food is top notch.

Everglades Alligator Farm

Homestead is home to the Everglades Alligator Farm. It’s the furthest south of the city, but if you are up for some alligators and swamp full of mosquitoes, go for it! Be prepared for the mosquitoes with long sleeves and bug repeller. While in Homestead, visit the famous Robert is Here farm and enjoy some delicious smoothies.

Wildlife

Florida is famous for its wildlife. You can go on plenty of wildlife tours to the zoo, seaquarium, Jungle Island and much more.

Brickell

Go Downtown the scenery there is beautiful . There are nice structures and buildings to see. Brickell is really nice and fancy. Why not just take the metro on your way there? you will see plenty.

Nightlife

Miami is lit at night! If you are in South Beach, stay there! All the celebrities love partying it up at the nightclubs on the island. There is also downtown Miami with some live clubs like eleven with special Dj every weekend. Brickell and Wynwood are also really poppin as well. The more urban clubs are located in the downtown area and in Wynwood. If you are into the nightlife, you will stay lit! Please never travel alone.

Bayside Market

Bayside marketplace was one of my favorite locations. This area is right beside the water with plenty of stores and merchants. You can some shopping and find all Miami souvenirs there. My favorite part is the live bands that perform on the water. It’s was always amusing to see the old Latino couples getting their groove on.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
