10 Things You Know To Be True as a Cashier

Being a cashier at a retail store isn't always the greatest job, especially when it's around the holidays. But working a cashier job at a convenience store is just a whole other level. Fellow cashiers, I'm sure you can relate to me in some way, shape or form.1. When people come in solely to buy gas and they don't know what pump they're at.

1. When people come in solely to buy gas and they don’t know what pump they’re at.

2. When you get blamed for not asking for their rewards card. If you wanted the points that bad, you would have remembered, not harassed me.

3. How are you doing today? "Newport Hundreds." Oh Ok. Thanks for responding. Don't even ask how I am. It's cool.

4. When they use as few words as possible to get their point across. "Ten on two." What was that sir? Ten dollars on pump two? You know it takes like two more words to make a sentence I can understand, right?

5. When they leave all their items at the counter, but need to go back to the car to grab their wallet for $.30. I have a huge line. Why you do dis?

6. "What’s your cheapest cigarettes?" They’re all expensive and going to kill you so do you really want me to answer that?

7. "Gimme a pack of blue games. Gimme some lottery. Gimme Newport Newport Hundreds." Can you say please?

8. When you tell someone to have a good day and they don’t even respond.

9. When they pay in all pennies and nickels and walk away before you can count it.

10. When they buy something and say, "put the rest on pump four." Does it look like I can do mental math?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
