10 Things To Thank Your Older Sister For
Jenna Baillie

Older sisters are the biggest blessing in your life, even though sometimes you may think it is the opposite. In all honesty, I do not know what I would do without my sister. She is my best friend, ride or die, therapist, and even a second mom at times. Here are a few of the reasons why you should thank your older sister for.

1. Sharing each others' clothes.

Going out somewhere and thinking that you have nothing to wear? No worries, just go across the hall to your sister's room and take something from her closet. It is double the clothes which can always be a good thing, even though sometimes you steal things from her room without her knowing.

2. Being your chauffeur when you did not have a license.

Whenever you needed to go somewhere and your parents were not around to drive, your sister would always be there with keys in hand. Always riding shotgun and bumping any music, and making stops for snacks or Dunkin' Donuts, having your sister drive you around is definitely the best.

3. Giving advice.

Anything you couldn't go to your parents for, your sister would always be there. Boy problems, friend drama, clothes advice, or anything else she would always try to help out and listen. She always knew how to handle it, even if her advice was not the best.

4. Buying you things when you were low on money or did not have a job.

I can't even count the amount of things that my sister has bought for me. She would always be there to help out and offer to get whatever I wanted.

5. Keeping certain things between the two of us.

All of the crazy things I have done, or the two of us together have done, she would never tell anyone else, including our parents. It is an unspoken bond that is just between siblings, and luckily for me, my sister and I are as thick as thieves.

6. Knowing you better than anyone else.

She knows what you like and what you don't. She has seen you at your worst and your best. She knows every possible thing about you, things that you might not even know about yourself.

7. Trusting her opinion over anyone else's.

If I ever have a question, I immediately go to my sister. She is always there when you need her, whether it be answering your text before anyone else's, answering your phone call at any time of day or night, she was always ready for anything you had to say.

8. Being the funniest person you know.

Even though some things she may say are so stupid and barely make any sense or have any relevance, she tries to make you laugh every moment of every day. Not a day goes by where she doesn't make me laugh. The amount of inside jokes we have and code names we have for people is probably unnatural.

9. Being your built-in best friend.

Friends come and go, but your sister is stuck with you for life. Despite the age difference, we share a lot of the same friends and do everything together. If I don't see my sister for even one day I get so bored. Having someone to do everything with every day is so great because you share so many memories together.

10. Always being there for you.

My sister always provides me with unconditional love and support and I couldn't thank her enough for it. Even though we may fight sometimes, we make up so quickly it's as if it didn't even happen. She always makes sure I am taken care of and is my go to person. She's one of the only people that would be willing to drop anything to be there for you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
