The city gains an unlimited amount of energy once the warm weather rolls in. The city that never sleeps has endless things to do in the summer. Here's a couple of things to do throughout your summer in NYC, or even some things to do if you're visiting. Some of these events are even free!

1. Go to a Rooftop Pool

Get a tan and hang out with some friends.


2. See the Sunset at The High Line

The High Line is a 1.45 mile elevated rail structure that was built in the 1930s to move rail freight parallel to, and about a block east of, the docks along the western spine of Manhattan Island. The elevate area has the perfect view to watch the sunset


3. Go to the Biergarten

The Standard Biergarten is The Standard, High Line's bustling, street-level beer garden serving traditional German fare from Chef Kurt Gutenbrunner. It is a great place to grab a drink and hangout with friends.


4. Go to Smorgasburg

Head down at Brooklyn Flea's Smorgasburg, the weekly food festival that takes place on Saturday afternoons on the Williamsburg and DUMBO waterfronts. The market includes various food venues around the NYC area along with some clothing stores. For those who are 21 there is also a great drink selection!


5. See a free SummerStage Show

6. Go to a Rooftop Bar

Have a cocktail high above the city and take in spectacular views at one of the best rooftop bars NYC has to offer.


7. Have a picnic in Central Park

Grab some food to go, or even buy food at the vendors around the park, and enjoy a relaxing day at Central Park.


8. Tour Brooklyn Brewery

Go to Williamsburg's stellar brew which now offers tours during the workweek, in which you can sample four of the brewery's suds, which have included the Intensified Coffee Stout or the Blunderbuss Old Ale.


9. Go to the Met Roof Garden

Head to the Metropolitan Museum Roof Garden to see an amazing view of Central Park.


10. Explore the Meatpacking District

The Meatpacking District is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan that runs from West 14th to Gansevoort Street, and from the Hudson River east to Hudson Street. Meatpacking has a variety of restaurants and shops along with an amazing night life experience. Head down there for a great meal or a fun night out in the city with friends.
