1. Leave for class five minutes before it starts:
Let’s face it, Fisher students could walk the entire campus four times before many of our friends at other schools would even make it to class.
2.Get ready on a Friday or Saturday night just to find out that nothing is going on:
We’ve all been there, spending hours getting ready and then when the time comes we realize that we just wasted half the night to find the rest of it will be spent within our dorms.
3. Go to events in the hopes of winning that apple TV or Fit Bit, only to come back empty-handed every time:
Every time there’s an SAB event, I’m determined to not leave empty handed. Well here I am, freshman year has ended and I have yet to win a prize… at least the events were a good time!
4. Say that you’re going to get cardinal, but ending up at fishbowl:
Let’s face it, fishbowl is one of the main reasons the freshman 15 becomes the Fisher 50. Regardless of your intentions, anytime you make the trip to fishbowl/cardinal you’re bound to walk out with a plate of greasy goodness.
5. Going to the library just to socialize:
You can walk into the library and see everyone and their mothers. If you are actually trying to study for that big test or write a paper, the first floor of fisher’s library is not the place to go.
6. Saturday and Sunday brunch
Every weekend everyone gathers with their friends and heads to the dining hall for Fisher’s best meal. I mean with omelets, French toast sticks, and tater tots, how could you resist? And of course, brunch is the perfect place to discuss the previous night out.
7. Not being able to walk around campus without seeing at least ten people you know:
One of the most common ways to describe Fisher, of course is how small it is. This can be both a blessing and a curse. I personally love being able to see familiar faces in the morning and sending a smile their way.
8. Sports:
Whether you’re on a sports team here or attending sporting events, Fisher is known for athletics. We also lack fraternity’s and sororities so of course, the sports team’s kind of run the school.
9. Own every article of clothing in the bookstore:
Fisher students love Fisher (apparel). I find myself walking into the bookstore only to realize that I own almost everything there already, but of course I still find something to buy.
10. Using “I don’t pay 40k a year for this” to justify everything:
Lets just say if Fisher had a suggestion box, it would be full. No matter how much we complain, we love most everything that Fisher brings.
So there you have it, the basics of being a Fisher student. If you can’t relate, do you even go here?
