10 Things Disney Lovers Are Tired Of Hearing

Shut up, just shut up....please.

Let me start this off by saying that Walt Disney is the greatest human to ever walk this earth. Without him and his unbelievably gifted and creative mind, we would not have some of the most treasured and loved characters, movies and places that we do have. Can you even imagine a life without Mickey Mouse and Disney World? I definitely can't; it would be so sad! There are a few people out there who love Disney with all their being (me) but there are some who just don't understand it, and sometimes they have little comments and digs to throw at us Disney lovers. Here are just a few things we are tired of hearing.

1. "Isn't Disney World boring now? It's just for kids."

Walt specifically created Disneyland and Disney World because he wanted a place where children and adults can have fun together, so NO it isn't just for kids and NO I will never get tired of it and NO IT IS NOT BORING AT ALL. If anything, it's better now that you can go on all of the rides and height limit isn't an issue.

2. "Why would you wanna spend your vacation waiting on lines?"

Have you ever heard of a FastPass? Clearly you don't use the FastPass system correctly if you're entire trip is waiting on lines. And if you need to wait on a line every once in a while, who cares! All of the lines now are pretty interactive and actually fun to wait on.

3. "You can't know EVERYTHING about Disney."

Do you know where to stand in the Haunted Mansion to avoid the huge mob scene that happens after you leave the stretching room? Do you know what the Beast's real name is? How about why the window in Cinderella's castle is always lit, as is a window on one of the shops on Main Street? Or what year every Disney movie was released? I can 100% tell you the answers to all of these questions and more. Point proven, case closed. Buh bye.

4. "You realize that you're just hugging a random stranger when you hug a character, right?"

No, I am hugging Mickey Mouse when I hug Mickey Mouse. Shut it you non-believer.

5. "Real life isn't like a Disney movie."

No shit, Sherlock. That's why I love them so much. It's nice to pretend that you live in a place where every bad thing can be cured with a little sprinkle of pixie dust and a perfectly choreographed song. It's nice to escape from real life for a little while.

6. "Wow, you've been to Disney World so many times, your family must be loaded."

LOL, no. It's this beautiful thing called the Disney Vacation Club that allows my family to go as much as we do. And it's called budgeting and learning the system. Your Disney vacation doesn't need to cost a small fortune if you know what you're doing.

7. "How many times have you been there?! That's just not healthy."

I choose to go as many times as I do because I enjoy it. You don't need to approve of it, because it isn't your life. It isn't unhealthy or crazy, it's a choice and something I love to do.

8. "Do you really need that many Mickey Mouse ears?"

Yes, I do. I need my traditional black ears, my Minnie Mouse pink ears, my Jack Sparrow ears, my gold Happiest Celebration on Earth ears, my Sorcerer Mickey ears (Sorcerer Mickey, FTW.) and every single headband ears I own and I will take all of them with me every time I visit and will have designated ears for the different parks, and most likely buy another pair when I'm there next. Judge me, go for it.

9. "All Disney movies have really messed up, subtle messages in them. How can you still like them?"

We've heard it all before. Beauty and the Beast is Stockholm Syndrome, Aladdin glorifies robbery and pretending to be someone else to "get the girl", Winnie the Pooh is just a parade of different diseases, yeah yeah yeah. Is that going to make me not love them any less? Nope. Beauty and the Beast is amazing and true love so shut it.

And the worst and most annoying of all...

10. "You should really vacation somewhere different, like an island or Europe. There's more to life than Disney."

Just because I love Disney as much as I do does not mean that I don't want to visit other places like Italy, London, or the Bahamas. I'll do that too, but that is never going to change the fact that Disney is my favorite place to be. If you don't like it, then don't go. But if you don't mind, I'm going to continue to visit the happiest place on earth as much as I possibly can and ride Space Mountain for the umpteenth time. Bye, haters.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
