College = independence. Right? In some aspects, yes. You finally get to live like an adult: going to class when you want, doing what you want, eating what you want. Because there are no parents around to tell you what not to do. But being independent also comes with a hell of a lot of baggage. Cooking, cleaning, and taking care of yourself are among the most important things to remember. Also besides the fact that you're in COLLEGE. Kinda have an obligation to do well.
But taking care of yourself. Seems easy right? Buy a couple of frozen dinners and some Ramen, and you'll be good. Or maybe snag something from the dining hall? Let's be real here. Dining hall food is sub-standard at best, and frozen dishes and Ramen only do you so much good. They're not even healthy. But when you're a poor college student, the options are quite limited. And it's only a matter of time before you get sick. At that point, you'll be wishing for someone to baby you. Someone to cook, clean, and tend to you: your mommy. She can only do so much from such a distance. Here's what getting sick in college really feels like, as told by the old-fashioned Cartoon Network.
1. You try any and all medicine at hand
2. When nothing works, you think the worst
3. Going to a mandatory class like, LOL, no
4. Wanting to be babied
5. Need to feel pampered
6. MOM'S FOOD
7. Enjoying the pleasant company of your bed
8. Because being sick, means doing this all day
9. And annoy others because you can't do anything
10. Finally, you start to feel better after a week
11. Expecting your professors to be like
12. But really, they're just like...
13. Then you realize how much work you missed
Being deathly sick during the college years really stinks. You're so used to having your parents around to take care of you and pamper you, that you don't really have a clue as to how to take care of yourself that well. Well, as adults, we have to learn eventually. It isn't that much of a laughing matter when you're coughing so hard, you can barely breathe. Or sweat so much during the night, you can hardly sleep. Learn to take care of yourself properly, or if not, have friends help you. They'll be there for you in your time of need (hopefully). Being sick in college makes us feel like little five or six year olds again. With us unable to do anything productive for the time being, and sitting in bed all day as if we had nothing better to do. But I guess, being babied once in a while, isn't all that bad!
