The 10 Switch Games I Am Most Excited For

The 10 Switch Games I Am Most Excited For

Can I afford all of these as a college student? Absolutely not. Am I going to try to get them anyway? Absolutely yes.

I've been a Nintendo geek ever since I started playing my family's GameCube at around four years old. Needless to say, I'm very excited for the Switch games that are going to be released this year! Narrowing down the list was difficult, but I think I managed to do it.

10. "Fire Emblem: Three Houses"

Release Date: July 26th, 2019
Genre: Tactical Roleplaying/Fantasy
Plot: "Three noble houses that are part of the Officer's Academy, an elite facility that trains students in the ways of weapons, magic and special skills. As a professor, the player must choose one of these houses to lead its students in grid-based battles with life-or-death stakes. Each house is comprised of many different students to meet and train, each with her or his own personality and skills. These students can interact with each other at the academy, strengthening their bonds and supporting each other on the battlefield."

I've played Fire Emblem since middle school and I'm really excited about this new game! I can't wait to see all of the up and coming features that haven't been in the game before.

9. "Luigi's Mansion 3"

Release Date: TBA
Genre: Action/Adventure
Plot: Not much is known yet, but fans can assume that it's similar to the "Luigi's Mansion" 3DS game, which involves Luigi winning a mansion, which ends up being haunted. He then has to race to find Mario, all while fighting off enemies like ghosts and ghouls.

The "Super Mario" series is a staple of Nintendo, and everyone knows what it is. I firmly believe that the series deserves the hype it gets, and I can't wait to play this game.

8. "Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order"

Release Date: Summer 2019
Genre: Action
Plot: "Assemble your ultimate team of Marvel Super Heroes from a huge cast including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, and more! Team up with friends to prevent galactic devastation at the hands of the mad cosmic tyrant Thanos and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order."

From what I've seen so far, the graphics in this game look amazing. It's been a while since the last Marvel game came out, and the timing for this one seems to perfect, given all of the "MCU" movies that are being released (particularly "Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame").

7. "Town"

Release Date: TBA
Genre: Roleplaying
Plot: "Town takes place in a town that looks like any ordinary town — a small town, even a peaceful town. You may think this is a run-of-the-mill RPG ... except that there are tons of monsters attacking Town's town. These are not the kinds of monsters Game Freak is best known for; they're not pocket-sized. They're huge."

This game comes from GameFreak, AKA the Pokémon Team, so I have pretty high expectations. We don't know much about this; "Town" appears to just be a working title and only a few clips and graphics have been released. That being said, it does look really cool so far.

6. "Pokémon"

Release Date: TBA
Genre: Adventure, Roleplaying
Plot: We don't know yet, but we can assume it'll be similar to the other games; picking out a pocket friend and ally to help you take on the Region's Gyms and eventually the League Champion!

"Town" isn't the only thing that GameFreak is working on. There's also going to be a "Pokémon" game released on the Switch as well! There's a lot of rumors about what it may be, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Nintendo and GameFreak are really holding out on announcing anything. All we know is that it'll be different from "Pokémon Let's Go" and will likely continue the tradition of the other games.

5. "Yoshi's Crafted World"

Release Date: March 29, 2019
Genre: Action
Plot: "Like many other Yoshi games, there is a light story guiding your adventures across Yoshi's island home. Baby Bowser and Kamek appear in Yoshi's happy home and steal the coveted Sundream Stone, scattering its gems across multiple worlds. As Yoshi, you'll have to track down the Sundream Stone and stop a horde of Baby Bowser and Kamek's minions along the way. That means lots of collectibles and hidden secrets, just like in past Yoshi games!" -iMore

I love Yoshi just as much as I love Mario, if not more. This one looks really unique and entertaining, and I can already tell that I'm going to adore it.

4. "Team Sonic Racing"

Release Date: May 21st, 2019
Genre: Kart racing
Plot: "Controlling of one of fifteen characters from the series' cast, players compete in races using sports cars. They view gameplay from a third-person perspective while performing tricks, drifting, and collecting power-ups. 'Team Sonic Racing' differs from traditional kart racers because of its focus on cooperative gameplay; the player is part of a team of racers and wins races through efficiency rather than speed. Game modes include earning competing to earn points, time trials, customizing the racing rules, and a story-driven campaign that serves as a tutorial." -WikiZero

This is set to come out the day after my birthday, which is pretty damn cool. Sonic games are a childhood favorite of mine, and this one looks like it'll be really carefree and fun!

3. "The Lego Movie 2"

Release Date: March 28, 2019
Genre: Action/Adventure
Plot: "As in 'The Lego Movie Videogame', the game will follow the same type of gameplay, only with new additional characters and refined combat mechanics. Worlds and characters from both films will be featured in the game. In the game, players create various structures in order to access new levels. The game will also include scenes from the film to indicate the separation between levels and/or missions." -Games Database

I won't have to wait much longer for this one! I already have it preordered. This game is based on the movie of the same name, and it'll be so cool to be back in the virtual world of Legos.

2. "Unravel 2"

Release Date: March 22, 2019
Genre: Puzzle
Plot: "Unlike the first game, 'Unravel Two' is both a single-player and a multiplayer game, though local co-op only. The game focuses on two Yarnys, which can be controlled with either one player or two, which must work together in order to solve puzzles and manipulate the world. The game contains the main storyline, set on an island, as well as challenge levels, significantly more difficult levels."

It's been a while since I played the first "Unravel" game, and I'm looking forward to getting back into it. I'm especially looking forward to the multiplayer options!

1. "Animal Crossing"

Release Date: TBA
Genre: Social simulation
Plot: Unknown, but probably similar to the other games. It's open-ended, playing as a human in a world of virtual animal friends, and being able to shop and fish and play in your in-game town by yourself or with other players.

If I had to choose just one game, this is almost definitely the one that I'm most excited for. I've loved "Animal Crossing" for almost a decade now! All "Animal Crossing" games are quite relaxing and carefree, and I'm sure this one will be no different (although the wait for it is the opposite of relaxing and carefree!). A lot of fans have theories and speculation about what this game may bring, but we don't know for sure yet.

The 7 Most Powerful Superpowers in Marvel Comics

Maybe you wish you could fly, but there's much better powers than soaring the skies.

Throughout the years of Marvel comics, superheroes and villains showed us the depths of having superpowers.

Along with the expansion of Marvel superpowers, writers made sure to focus on broadening the potential of what a single power could do. What superpowers do you believe are the most powerful in the Marvel Universe. No doubt many of you would respond with generic choices such as the Hulk's super strength, Spider-Man's wall crawling, Ms. Marvel's flight, but I assure you many of Marvel's favorites don't come anywhere close to possessing Alpha superpowers. I'm not referencing the forgotten character with abnormal or useless abilities. I'm talking about characters who aren't in the spotlight, but standing right behind it.

The most powerful superpowers in the Marvel Universe will blow your mind.

7. Elasticity

Mr. Fantastic

The power to stretch your body into whatever length and form. In the Marvel Comics, Mr. Fantastic could convert the mass of his body into a highly flexible state. With this power, he can absorb kinetic energy, to the extents of becoming a barrier between his team and a 150 billion ton mountain. Elasticity grants the character practically an immunity to death. Their skin can't be torn or slashed. Let's not forget the size alteration and shape-shifting aspects of elasticity superpowers. It will take a strong force to bring an elastic character down because they are immensely durable to attacks. It is impossible to kill them which if they remain in elastic form, it could grant them immortality.

6. Nature Manipulation

I know how this seems like a joke, but manipulating the forces of nature is one of the most powerful powers to ever want. Meggan Puceanu could manipulate nature which gave her the abilities to sense the emotions of all living things, sense electromagnetic forces, air currents, and even see telepathic communication. It also gave her the ability to shapeshift into any animal or human in response to her emotional state. The greatest ability nature manipulation gives is to power to control the elements. Water, air, earth, fire, and even energy. Imagine creating tsunami's with a thought, causing earthquakes with a word, or extinguishing a forest-fire with the wave of a hand. The five elements are what makes our world and if you can control them, then you have limitless power over what you can do.

5. Teleportation/Portal Creation

Magik (Illyana Rasputina)

How would you feel if you could go anywhere in the universe? For someone like Magik, that's a thing she could do every day. She can create stepping discs (portals) that can teleport herself across interstellar distances or through time and space. Imagine teleporting to the time you fell in front of your crush or failed the most important quiz in your entire life. Maybe it's not the past you're worried about, it's the future. With these powers, you would be unstoppable. You could travel to any place at any time and prevent people from being killed. I won't even mention teleporting into bank vaults. No one would be able to catch you and in a way, that's way better than intangibility and invisibility

4. Regenerative Healing Factor

We've all since the icon seen in "X-Men: The Last Stand" where the Phoenix is disintegrating everything into nothing, but Wolverine somehow in one piece as he pushes towards her. The only reason he wasn't obliterated into smithereens is that of his accelerated regenerative healing factor. Unlike typical characters with healing factors, his healing is far faster and efficient. He can heal from numerous gunshot wounds, severe burns, and regenerate limbs within a few hours. And the healing goes even further. It can cure diseases, sicknesses, curses, trauma, and also provides an extended lifespan by decelerating the effects of aging. You could be 100 years old and still look the way you did at fifteen. It's near immortality. It's an even better power when you can transfer or extract the essence of your healing factor to duplicate and bless others. There are various heights the accelerated healing factor can reach, but it should always be one of your top go-to powers.

3. Magic

Scarlet Witch

Magic is a very complex superpower. There are many different forms of it in the Marvel Universe. Druidic, Chaos, Blood, Hellfire, Mystic, Odin-Force, Necromancy, Quantum, Technomancy, Voodoo, and general magic. The most notable wielders being Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange. Scarlet Witch manipulated Chaos magic in order to warp reality at will. With a few words, she stripped almost an entire race of mutants of their superpowers. She can channel magic from demons, cast hexes, and manipulate the field of probability. Technically, by using magic you can mimic anyone's power and achieve what they can do. The range of abilities is beyond unfathomable when magic is involved. If the magic wielder is skilled enough, the effects of their spells may weave into reality and remain forever. Magic is very dangerous, but still one of the most powerful powers in the Marvel Universe.

2. Psionic Manipulation

Psionic Manipulation is more than just moving things with your mind. You can sense the emotions of living things around you and telepathically communicate with others. When this power is mastered to its full potential, you will have visions of the future, be able to teleport and manipulate raw psychic energy. We're talking about affecting matter on a subatomic level. Disintegrating matter into nothing or creating matter from nothing. Such as forming energy out of thin air or turning silver into gold. The mental part of it will give you the power to ascend to the Astral Plane and mind control living beings on a world-wide scale. Hellion used his psionic powers to make him fly and form impenetrable force fields. The force of his mind power is so great that he can will himself to fly at least twice the speed of sound. The psychic energy powers super strength behind his attacks and he can control matter on a molecular level to scatter it and reform it back together. Psionic Manipulation speaks for itself, there's no way you can harm or even attempt to harm someone with these powers.

1. Cosmic Manipulation

The Phoenix Five

Cosmic Manipulation is such an exciting power to have. It's not often talked about, so many of you might not know what it is. The superpower gives the character the power to manipulate different forms of cosmic energy. Many characters in the Marvel Universe have this ability. Jean Grey, Rachel Summers, Storm, Thanos, Franklin Richards, Silver Surfer, and many more. It is an extremely powerful ability to possess. You can channel cosmic energies to produce a number of effects. Most often in Marvel Comics, the cosmic energies augmented the superpowers of the character to a universe-ending level. The most powerful wielder of this superpower being the Phoenix. It possessed Jean Grey and augmented her psionic powers to where she could create psychic flames that burned everything into nothing. It also made her transformed her into one of the mightest telekinetic and telepath in the whole Marvel Universe. With Cosmic Manipulation, you can advance the evolution of humans by radiating and also manipulate all forms of energy. At it's maxed potential, you can manipulate everything and all natural forces on a cosmic level. You could have Hulk's strength, Professor X's telepathy, Magneto's magnetic powers, and all of the above. We're talking about altering the universe and remaking it in whatever form you see fit. You would be foolish not to know that Cosmic Manipulation is THE most powerful superpower in the Marvel Universe.

This concludes the 7 most powerful superpowers in the Marvel Universe. Was there a superpower that should have been included on the list. Do you think these are the top superpower in Marvel? If not, what would you change? Drop a comment below!

The 4 Worst E3 Press Conferences Ever Held

Whether it was the cringe factor, blunders, fails, or even announcements that were just outright disappointing to hear.

It's almost every gamer's favorite time of the year. In a little over a month, E3 2019 will be upon us. You would think that big game companies would bring their A-games to these conferences, but that's not always necessarily the case. Today we're going to go through the top five worst E3 conferences ever held.

Whether it was the cringe factor, blunders, fails, or even announcements that were just outright disappointing to hear.

1. The Xbox One announcement – 2013

Starting at number one on our list is Microsoft's conference in 2013. Microsoft's main focus during this time was the newly revealed Xbox One. With that being said, the majority of the conference was talking about the various features on the console that were eventually removed in the final product. There were barely any games announced for the new system. Microsoft also went out of their way to tell fans that the new console will need an internet connection to operate. To pour salt on that wound, Microsoft tells us that the system would also need the Kinect in order for your console to function properly. A new console couldn't hide the anger and uproar from fans.

2. Jamie Kennedy – Activision 2007

Activision made a mistake in 2007 by hiring Jamie Kennedy, a famous comedian, to host its live press conference. To be more comedic (I guess), Kennedy decided to show up to the press conference drunk and high. Kennedy cracked jokes at game producers and audience members throughout the show and would frequently stumble and forget video game titles and would always make inappropriate jokes instead. I don't think he's getting a gig anytime soon.

3. Konami 2010

The Konami 2010 press conference was very...interesting and random. The whole conference itself seemed ad-libbed and off script. From half-naked wrestlers to many awkward minutes of silence, Konami's press conference will be one to remember. Now that I think about it, this train wreck of a show actually made me forget what games were even announced during their conference.

4. Nintendo 2008 Press Conference

After their 2008 press conference, Nintendo actually issued an apology for its performance during their E3 conference. The conference consisted of showing off the Wii's motion controls. What made things worse was at times the controls weren't always calibrated correctly, which makes a recipe for disaster. The actors themselves didn't make things better, turning Nintendo's conference into a cringe-fest.

However, we must never forget that E3 is a completely live event that's being streamed all around the world to millions. Not everything is expected to come out perfect, but I can promise you we'll come away with some memorable moments.
