Now that summer has started, you probably haven't moved from the couch since you got home last month. You've thought about working out but took countless naps instead. You want to be beach-body ready without having to go through the hassle of working out. Summer's about enjoying yourself and experiencing the beautiful sunny weather. Here are a few summer workout ideas you can do outside:

1. Bike to a local ice cream store.

Although you have to suffer through the torture and extreme butt pains that come with biking, you have a reward waiting for you at the end. It's definitely a less comfortable seat than your couch, but the ice cream will taste twice as good knowing you worked for it.

2. Hiking

If you can, find a local hiking spot, or even a simple trail you can go on with friends or family. All you need is a good pair of sneakers, a sufficient number of snacks and some sunscreen, unless you want to look like the tomato filter on Snapchat.

3. Outdoor yoga

As painful as yoga can be, it's also extremely relaxing. Rather than being stuck inside stretching, go outside to enjoy the nice weather. Your neighbors may believe you are summoning a spirit or doing a rain dance, but you will feel much more relaxed.

4. Kayaking

Head down to a local river or lake to rent a kayak. If that's not enough of an arm workout for you, try bringing a drink along with you to pick that up for some extra lifting.

5. Cliff jumping

Lace up your sneakers and start chasing waterfalls. Along with hiking, try to find a trail with a waterfall along it. With a few friends, you can find a peaceful swimming spot or have an exhilarating adventure.

6. Swimming at a local pool or lake

With the hot summer sun beating down on you, it feels refreshing to jump in any body of water you can find, even if it's your trash can that you filled with water. However, try to add some distance in your swim, whether it's swimming back and further in a pool or attempting to swim across a lake.

7. Running outside or along the beach

As if running isn't hard enough, try to do it on a beach. You'll have an incredible view while you're huffing and puffing trying to work off that box of Oreos you ate last night. Although it'll be painful, you'll still be outside enjoying the weather.

8. Paddle boarding

Try stand up paddle boarding, otherwise known as SUP, if you can. You will hardly realize it is a total body workout, working your arms, legs and core as you say, "Sup," to all the people watching you paddle along.

9. Rock climbing

Rather than hitting rock bottom after finishing a whole pint of ice cream, try rock climbing somewhere in your local area.

10. Walking around your neighborhood

If anything, try to get off your couch and walk around for a little bit. You'll feel so much better after you move around for a little. Plus, you'll be able to enjoy the fresh air while mentally preparing yourself for your next Netflix binge.

Instead of being held up in a hot gym for hours, try a few of these activities to get in a summer-themed workout. You'll have so much fun trying each one that you'll completely forget you're actually exercising!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
