Whether you are originally from Charlotte or have only lived here for a little while, you will know these struggles all too well. From the roads to the weather, Charlotte definitely has its issues, but they are nothing a seasoned Queen City citizen cannot handle. See if you can relate to any of these daily difficulties, or if you’re not from The Hornet’s Nest, maybe you can sympathize.

1. The ever-changing weather.

Charlotte seems like the only place where you have to wear a jacket in the morning only to need a bathing suit by mid-afternoon.

2. The same road can change three times.

Providence to Queens to East Morehead is just one example.

3. Driving on 485 or Providence Road is a hassle at 5 p.m.

You know, it's better to not even try and to just stay where you are until at least 7 p.m.

4. Coming in second to Raleigh.

The roads, the concerts, the everything.

5. You rarely meet someone who is actually from Charlotte.

Nobody that lives here seems to be a Charlotte native, everyone appears to be from just about everywhere else.

6. Every concert is during the week.

All the larger cities get the weekend time slots which means Charlotte always gets the worst showtimes.

7. HB2 is on everyone’s mind

Whether you support it or not, you know you can’t go a week without hearing about it.

8. Losing Superbowl 50

You know that this was probably one of the most disappointing losses of all time for Panthers fans.

9. The city shuts down with a forecast of snow

If the weatherman even mentions the words "snow" or "ice," school is canceled and salt is dumped on the roads immediately.

10. Trying to eat at Cook-Out on a Friday night is a nightmare

The line is always the longest on a Friday night and you may not even be able to fit your car in the parking lot.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
