Being in college is hard. It seems like all fun and games in the movies, but until you're actually in it, you have no idea how difficult it really is. Professors may be more lenient than the teachers in high school, but the workload is much heavier. Every night is spent studying until you can't keep your eyes open, and every weekday drags on for what feels like years. Of course, college is fun as well, but here are ten struggles of being in college, as told by Rachel Green from Friends.

1. When your friends are all out with their S.O.

With so many new people in one place, it is inevitable that your friends are finding boyfriends and girlfriends, while you're stuck at home wondering where you're going wrong.

2. When you wait until the last minute to start an assignment

The minute something gets assigned, you immediately tell yourself that you'll start on it when you get back home. But then your friends all suggest you go out, and before you know it, it's hours before your assignment is due and you're frantically typing and trying to make sense of your writing.

3. Or better yet, when you finish an assignment and forget to turn it in

Everyone who's done this knows this is just the *best* feeling in the world. You feel so proud and accomplished once the assignment is done, that you just completely blank on turning it in. This is most common for online assignments but hurts just the same for any assignment.

4. When you realize you're running out of money

This is, perhaps, the most relatable of them all. You constantly say you'll get a job, but when it comes down to it, you don't. You need the money, sure, but having a job will take up the free time you have left after school!

5. When you've had a little too much and you decide to call the ex from back home

Sometimes when you're out on the weekends, your friends just can't control drunk you. Without even telling them, you run off and suddenly you're cursing your ex out over the phone and telling him you're so much better off.

6. When you have a list of things you need to do, but just can't find the motivation

There are too many moments like these, when you're so stressed out about everything that has to be done, yet you still do nothing about it. Pizza solves everything, right?

7. When you have to give a presentation, and you're still terrible at presenting

Presentations are the worst, and unfortunately, they're still the worst in college. It's hard enough pretending like you know what's going on in the class, let alone standing up in front of everyone else presenting.

8. When you have an irrational crush on someone you've never talked to

Whether he's in your class, or the class before yours, or you've just seen him on the street, you just wish you could have him. You have no idea how to approach him though, and at this rate, you never will.

9. When you see someone you used to be friends with at a party

It's always very awkward when you see someone you no longer get along with at party. Especially if they're confrontational, and you're not.

10. And finally, when you realize you have to begin adulting and go into the real world after college

Adulting is not easy, but unfortunately, it is something everyone must figure out. College is a wild ride, but the rest of your life ahead can only go up from here, right?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
